Good morning LL. We've had one of those mornings - neither kitty would eat. Poor MamaLizBean had a can of everything we have in our house cracked opened. Zener had a scarf and barf during his PM dinner last night and his appy never quite recovered during the evening cycle and was absent this morning. Fortunately his numbers were high enough to shoot safely and he is eating bits and bobs now.

We got a few fud "addiction" from New Zealand we ordered from Pet Food Direct online that has rabbit and is grain free etc for kitties with allergies, recurrent UTI and IBD sorts of things, we're not sure about the carbs. Zener thinks it is poison, but we tried it with Tillie today and she thinks it is delicious, this morning anyway.

Despite Zener's appy issues this week, his weight is holding steady. He appears to still be in a bounce and/or perhaps this dose is falling flat but we are reluctant to go up with his appy so unhappy. Paws crossed this all passes soon. Having one kitty with FD and IBD seemed a lot and now our civvie likely has IBD too. Holy moly, it's gonna kill us.

Sending major eating vines for Zener and Tillie and also healing vines for their IBD. I'm so sorry and I wish he would eat the New Zealand food. I think one of the most overwhelming things is sick cats that won't eat. So sending you both some Zen and comfort. And a virtual hug :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: ...or more.

You can take turns coming down here for a mini vacation if you want :-D We won't make you do any cat tending chores ;-) ;-)

Thanks for the hugs and support. It is a very hard day at our house for beans. Tillie's appy has picked up thank goodness. Zener is eating bits and bobs but about 1/2 of his usual amount. We are already worried about shooting this evening. nailbite_smile

What a hard job catering to two finicky kitties. Good luck with the new fuds. I remember reading about someone on here feeding the Addiction Brushtail formula. It's definitely a unique protein, like the rabbit. Brushtail is also a marsupial - I tell Neko her kangaroo is mouseupial and it's their fav. Figures Tillie would like it.

Zener - you and Neko need to get down from those sunny yellows. And please, eat your fuds - you are stressing your mommabeans too much.

Sending good appy vines to Zener. It is stressful when our kitties don't want to eat. I'm glad Tillie is eating better today.

I tried the brushtail and she liked most of the can. I haven't gone back and bought another can but it didn't affect her bg with it's 12% carbs. I can get it right here in town anytime.
Brushtail is a small Australian possum .... I went and looked it up.

Thanks for all the appy vines and thanks too for the tip on the brushtail. It is currently out of stock with pet food direct but they will email me when it becomes available. I ordered some of their venison, will see how that goes with the kitties.

Sorry to hear about all the unhappy appy's. Good luck with the new fud and hopefully Zener will decide he likes it :roll:
It sure can be a lot taking care of these kitties, let alone 2 or 3 that have some kind of health issues.

It can feel so overwhelming when they won't eat, on top of whatever else is bothering them at the moment. Raises the stress level of the beans, especially on a Sunday, when work looms on Monday.

Sending appy vines for Zener, hoping the new fuds appeal to both kitties. Or the old fuds just become more appealing :-D

Oh, wow, what a day of stress for you. Hopefully it will morph into a pleasant evening with kitties who want to eat their fuds. Those marsupial varieties sound interesting. I hope Zener and Tillie will decide that they like them. If Tillie likes the fuds, is Zener inspired to take another tasting?
Anyway, we are thinking of you this evening and sending EAT NOW vines, FEEL GOOD vines. Come on, kitties, let's rally!

I hope the appys have picked up by now. It sure is stressful when you don't know if they don't feel good or are being finicky or what have you. Good appy vines coming your way!

Boo hiss on the crappy appy, Zener. You need to eat your fuds! They'll keep you big, strong and healthy...well, you know what I mean. You kitties don't understand what you do to us when you won't eat. It tears us up. So, please, please, please eat. Liz & Anne, I'm sorry that both kitties are having appy issues. Sending happy appy vines to both kitties, healthy body vines to both kitties, and sanity vines to both of you. Hope you two can get some good sleep tonight before the week begins. Sleep well.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that both Zener and Tillie have poor appetite today.
I agree with Marje, sick kitties with poor appy are the hardest on us beans.
I'm glad Tilli's appetite is picking up, and really hope Zener will start wanting food soon.

Thanks everyone for such wonderful support in our trying day of crappy appy. We are SO grateful for everyone here. :YMHUG:

We decided to increase Zener's Cerenia to five days in a row starting today to see if this will help with his recent bouts of puking and improve his appy. He is on ondansetron regularly for nausea so we are able to use cypro to stimulate his appy without worrying about making a nauseated kitty eat. We upped his cypro to a small piece (about 1/16 of a 4mg pill) instead of the usual crumb tonight. Paws crossed this plan helps with his recent GI issues.

Tillie decided the rabbit was poison then after eating some of Zener's fuds decided the rabbit was delicious again, then started eating Zener's fuds again. :shock: And Zener decided the rabbit was delicious and ate some of Tillie's fuds, making the math of who is eating what and how much an adventure. :? We are just so glad they are both eating, we don't care!!

No dosecrease yet, though we aren't crazy about all the pinks and yellows, until we get his appy back on track. Not eating is stressful enough but if his numbers dive and he's not eating, the beans will need medication! :roll:
