11/2 Shasta

WCR: All Ps in place. Got some snuggles at bedtime last night and obnoxious kitty this morning when she decided I needed to get up and feed her. By the way, she still had 90% of her overnight snack still left in her bowl this morning. She has taken over my lap for the moment. Her fur is very, very flakey/dandruffy. Don't know if it has something to do with the slightly cooler weather or something else. Yesterday, I gave her sub-q fluids and I'm pretty sure there was air in the line because when I run my hand along her back, I hear a crackling sound...like she has air bubbles in her skin. That worries me. Does anyone know if that will go away over time? Should I be worried?

I don't love the time change whole heartedly, but I know that my body prefers waking up now as opposed to an hour ago....and technically, I got the same amount of sleep. Weird. Happy Monday, LL!

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

I'm glad you got some snuggles from Shasta. Silly kitty pestering you for food when she still had some. I don't know about the bubbles in the fluids. I hope someone can answer your question today.

I like the direction you are going there Shasta!

I, too, have no info on the bubbles thing, but will be curious to see what others have to say...

Have a wonderful day you two!

Nice blue for Shasta today!

I would call the vetty and ask them about the crackling. I vaguely remember reading something about that somewhere, but I don't remember where - but it may have been on Tanya's CKD site. One time we did start a new line and forgot to purge the air bubbles - it was making a funny noise as it was going in, so we stopped right away, purged it, and restarted, but it didn't have any lasting effects.

Have a great day, Deborah!

Morning Deborah ~O) ~O) ~O)

Nice start today for Shasta! Off to the land of the blues. Surf well little one. :-D

I too have no clue on the bubbles thing... we did not have to deal with fluids.

Have a great day. I hope all goes well.

Shasta's looking mighty fine this morning. And snuggles! Ohhhhhh.

Can't answer the cracking sound question. I've fluided probably close to 20 cats at one time or another either here at home or at work. Never heard that cracking sound. Might be worth it to call the vet and see what they have to say.

I've heard the crackling sound mentioned but am not sure of its significance. Let us know what the vet says - i'd like to know.

You do always want to purge the line of air before you insert the needle.
