Good Morning, Everyone,

Thinking of Roni & Brad and Moonie. Sending healing vines to all kitties and beans who need some. Hoping CD is feeling better.

It's 32 degrees here and snowing. I'm beginning to think that we won't get out on any more paddles this year, but you never know. We're leaving the canoe rack on the car just in case.

Rusty had a good night, but the transition to the time change is confusing him a bit. Why is my schedule messed up??--Rusty
He jerked away during his shot this morning, but it all got in. Other than that, he ate about half of his breakfast and then made a beeline to his little bed by the radiator.

Today is the first indoor farmers' market. They picked a good day to start the winter venue! We'll walk down there later and see how many of the farmers are going to participate. Our favorite farmers will be there (2 young guys who met in the Peace Corps in Equador, came home, bought a little land, spent the first few years hauling water in buckets to irrigate their crops, and now, 5 years later, have a thriving CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We may buy a half share in 2013. They have splendid produce.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

Ella & Rusty

Kitties do love their warmth, I tell you! He's showing you a very lovely # this morning. I hope that gives you a beautiful  surf for you today, and every day. Have a good day, and stay warm! It's a good day to bake, me thinks. :-D

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

SNOW????? awesome - guess it is that time of year. I hope however that you will be able to get in a few more paddles this year. We had good snow in the mountains last week, now with all the rains alot has melted... no doubt in a few weeks there will be lots. w are for sure getting much colder. Enjoy the snow fall - I hope all looks pretty with a white dusting.

How fun on the indoor farmers market. I hope that will be a go for a few more weeks. Very cool on the two young guys and their CSA. how great is that.

Enjoy your day today. Rusty is off to a great start, including the radiator. Mannie looked out side, saw the wet, went to sleep in his bed....

Re: 11/3 Rusty AMPS 134

Nice start for Rusty today. I hope that means he's going to surf some green for you later. Enjoy the farmer's market.

Re: 11/3 Rusty AMPS 134

Morning Ella and Rusty, wow, snow falling already! I hope you do get in a few more good paddles. Rusty sure loves his little bed by the radiator. Maggie has a cozy one that sits on my sofa and near the patio. Sounds like a pleasant day with a walk to the Farmer's Market and seeing your two friends you met in Equador. Have a wonderful day.

Re: 11/3 Rusty AMPS 134

Hi Ella - Oh, keep that rack on the car! Hopefully you'll get another couple paddles in ... if you take it off, you know what will happen!!!

Brrr on the weather. We're at 45 but it's only going to 51. Ick. What a wonderful story on the two guys and the CSA - it sounds like they love what they do and take pride in their produce. I hope you come home with some good stuff today. I'm ready to start roasting squashes in the oven with honey and brown sugar. Yum!

Ok Rusty, nice surf buddy!

Re: 11/3 Rusty AMPS 134

Oh yeah Ella, keep the rack on. It's supposed to be nice again, next week. Talking about 50, here in the southern tier.

Good place for Rusty to be....near the warm radiator. :-D

Hi again,

Rusty went outside briefly in the snow, but decided it was too wet and cold, so came in and finished his breakfast. I think he was thinking of chipmunk for breakfast, but that wasn't going to happen! He got Wellness Chicken for lunch and is now back on top of the radiator, soaking up the warmth.

A few hardy farmers were at the town hall today, and it was great to be there, and not outside in the wet. We got some lovely field greens, some sweet potatoes, some acorn squash, and some onions. We decided that we will definitely do a 1/2 share in the CSA next year. You get a wooden crate of produce every week and you get to pick what veggies you want. This summer they had the most delicious yellow cherry tomatoes I have ever tasted. The CSA members get first dibs on everything they have in a given week. We also bought a bottle of wine from a local vintner (who only uses grape varieties that grow in the North Country), and some goat cheese from a goat-milk dairy.

Off now to the hardware store for a few necessaries. Then I will harvest the herbs in the little greenhouse (rosemary, oregano, and what's left of the basil) and hang them to dry. Edward is preparing his starter to bake tomorrow.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

   Keeping the Lagoon well monitored, I see. Rusty seems to be liking the cold weather w/ his beautiful long coat!

Sounds like the winter market will be a success, so much nicer to be indoors for customers, vendors and sales!

W just did a big cut back on Stu's Rosemary Bush, it was getting hard to get down the sidewalk, Tess supervised from the window. It's over 4' tall and is supposed to be the low spreading type. I think of Stu every time we walk by!

I was wonder how much effect you had from the storm, but it looks like it stalled out before it could move north as they had originally predicted. I hope the new one dies out befor the northeast gets hit again too.

This dose is sure agreeing with Rusty. I'm ready for some snow here because I want to go cross country skiing. But we're just having warm, sunny fall days. Hard to complain about that. :-D We do the CSA here but we don't get a choice, just whatever the farm brings.

Hi again,
Rusty is back at the lagoon, waiting for his friends. Interesting day: very similar numbers to yesterday.

Ann, that is fantastic about the size of the remembrance rosemary bush for Stu. Our climate is too cold for rosemary to overwinter, so we start a new plant each spring in our little greenhouse (an addition onto the original garage, making the garage a little too short for the car, but that's OK).

Talked to Roni this evening. She sounded depressed and overwhelmed. I hope that their appointment tomorrow will go well.

We have set back the clocks and are ready to enjoy an extra hour of sleep.

Ni ni,

Ella & Rusty

Have a nice weekend Ella!
Thankyou for bringing messages from Roni & Moonie. So sorry that Roni & family has to go through this. Hope she can get her compensation fast & settle down with the rebuild soon.
