Happy Caturday!

Racci is her cheerful self this morning. All p's evident except a poop but she did have 2 yesterday so I'm not worried about it. I'm sure it will come after her next meal. It always amazes me that she is in a perpetually good mood and always so happy to see me. Even if she'd rather sleep after one little complaint, she gives me a kiss. Such a sweetie! The way she waits for me to cuddle and play at night before going to bed is just so precious and irreplaceable! She won't go in her bed until I come in the bedroom to cover her with her blankie and cuddle her & play with her little soft cuddle toys. We cuddle and play with the toys & I kiss her to pieces as she purrs away licking my face to give me kisses back. After a few minutes of cuddling, I can go to bed and she cuddles into her bed with the blankie almost over her head & goes to sleep until I get up. She looks so sweet with her blankie. :-D

When I hear of others losing their fur babies and think of losing my Calli a year ago, I wonder what I will do when I lose my Racci. I can't bear the thought. She's so special and important to me. She's been my baby and best friend for 16 years. I hope she lives as long as it's feasible for her to live and I wish the same for all of you and your special fur babies.
Sorry for getting so sentimental. One of those days.

My baby isn't near as sweet as yours :-D but I sure understand the sentimentality... I do that everyday too.
Always trying to be as thankful I can be for every day we have together , however long that will be.
I don't know how we'll get thru it.... I know we will but I sure am dredding it....

Hope Racci surfs greens all day and night....

My Calli wasn't as sweet as Racci is either. She only wanted to cuddle or be bothered when she felt like it, and if I did and she didn't, too bad on me. :lol: I would get the present of a minute or 2 and then she would let me know she was done. I loved her anyway but it was different. I felt I was replaceable I guess. :lol: Every time she wants me to play and I really don't want to, I remind myself that I won't have her forever & will regret the missed opportunities & go play. :smile:

I'm hoping those greens stay a while too! She hasn't been seeing a lot of the low greens lately and really needs some healing numbers. I'm going to test her again now. I hate to wake her but I'll have to if I want a +6. In spite of not having such great numbers lately, her fur really has been looking good though. she's been nice and shiny and easy to brush with very little dandruff or matts. I'm so glad to see that. Her fur truly tells how she's feeling.

How is Shadow doing?

Hi Melanie, Its great the Racci is so sweet and affectionate! Mine have their sweet lovey moments though not often enough for me to get used to it. I love them regardless and try to cherish every day with them. I get more sentimental as I get older, tear up at posts from folks who lost their fur babies, its just so sad. It makes me remember my much loved GA cats, and resolve to better appreciate time with these furs. Jasper is lying near me now, ignoring me in his own special way :-D cat_pet_icon

Hi Leslie,

I know what you mean. I never had a cat that acted this way before so I think it's Racci that's unusual. I think one of the reasons is because I've raised her from the time she was born so she's always known me, had me help her nurse, and I had to start feeding her & her siblings at 3 wks because Calli got an infection in one of her breasts. I was always very affectionate with all of them. The rest of it is just her good nature.

I confess I cry every time I read a post about another one of the FDMB cats dying. I'm just so heartbroken for the parents. Ive lost so many furbabies through the years and it brings it all back & the fear of losing Racci.

I hope Jasper is well and enjoying the Falls. They all love in their own way and it's precious to have that special relationship too.

Turn back , Racci.... you were supposed to stay green.

Shadow is doing good. She did finally give me a 78 last night before we went to sleep. Mostly she's in the 90-100's.
I'm not having any luck getting her to self serve her food when I leave some out. We've got a few weeks to practice before
Christmas. I feel like I'm stressing her pancreas if she goes too much more than 5 hrs between food. (usually 4 hrs)

Watching other's lose their kitties is heartbreaking and there was one a while back that we all tried to warn her and then it happened.
I really hate the one's like that. The preventable one's just eat at me....

Hi Melanie, it sound like you have a really strong heart bond with Racci. I hope she does a poo. I'm finally getting Maggie on a semi good poo schedule! :-D What a nice cycle today for Racci.

I'm glad Shadow is doing well. Those are great numbers with no insulin. You say she goes 4-5 hours. Does she go to the dish then or do you have to bring her food then because she ignores the feeder? I never used one so have no personal experience with it. Does the food stay fresh in it?

Yes, I think I know which one you're referring to that wouldn't listen and then lost the cat. That infuriates me. It happens too often We can only suggest and share our knowledge unfortunately. We can't force people to do the right thing. So many times it's just not the person's fault completely also. They have a vet giving them bad information that is contrary to what we are telling them and they don't know us. The selfish or egotistical reasons are killers though when they don't want to spend so much or they think they know better.

Hi Ann,

Yes, Racci and I have a very strong bond. We always have since she was the runt and I had to take extra care of her to help her to survive. I can't believe she still hasn't pooped tonight. It's almost 2:30 in the morning and she hasn't gone all day! I'm glad Maggie is finally straightening her poo habits out. I hope Maggie can keep it up this time. Racci's are all messed up again. :YMSIGH: It's a constant battle but once they get there they stay straightened out for a while at least.
