Yesterday, started a new dose and new dose wonkiness. :YMSIGH:

11/2 Recap:
AMPS 218 +9 233
PMPS 230 +4 340

Neko didn't used to have much NDW - not a new trait that either of us are liking. :-x I'm not used to having to wait this long for a new dose to take effect. The morning pre breakfast whacking was somewhat diminished today. I've decided that moving back to standard time in the evenings instead of the morning is easier on all of us. Still got 1/2 hour to go.

Another gloomy November day. We have a rainfall warning in effect. It's a good day to hunker down on a memory foam bed. Neko heads out to the solarium after breffs and that's often where I give her shot and do acupressure. But today she quickly decided that inside the house proper was better.

I think today I'll start roasting pumpkin (from the jack o lantern), it's a perfect day for soup. Vines to all in need today.

Re: 11/3 Neko AMPS 217

NDW can be so frustrating. You tell yourself that's all it is, but a little part of you worries that there's something else affecting the numbers - at least, that's how it works with me! I hope Neko settles into this dose soon and the whacking escalates accordingly!

Re: 11/3 Neko AMPS 217

Oh Wendy, Tiger and I are sending tons and tons of Anti-NDW vines for Miss Neko!!! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Like Tricia says, you can't help but worry that it is something else, don't I know! Certainly, this dreary weather isn't helping either  Didn't you say that last year at this time, Neko had a similar episode of weird NDW? I read that in humans, Seasonal Affective Disorder can cause a number of problems, couldn't the same be true with our pets?

Yes to roast pumpkin and soup!! :-D :-D

Ugh - more like yesterday, no progress. Patience pants are getting tight. Not threatening an increase, but a vetty visit. Neko doesn't usually notice the time change and I'm doing it really slowly (10-15 minutes a day). Neko's a little quieter like she is in higher numbers, but she did think long and hard about going outside. She was in the doorway for ages before changing her mind, then went and consoled herself with rubbing Mr. Air Compressor Tires.

@Tricia, Ruth, Carla - This time last year she had to go up in dose too, for no apparent reason, but I've had to go up higher this time. I just hate seeing so much pink on her SS. She's due for her 6 month bloodwork in a few weeks, so I'm almost tempted to go in a little earlier.

So sorry, Wendy. It's just so darned worrisome! Might be worth a vet visit just for your peace of mind.

In the meantime, keep those tires close for Neko's peace of mind! She's such a little cutie.

Vines.

Hi Wendy,
The experts always say that you can compare what your kitty is doing now to what she did before, but you can't draw meaningful conclusions from such comparisons. There are too many variables. FD is totally unpredictable. Things change. Insulin requirements change for no apparent reason, or because of some longer arc. I try to keep this in mind when whacky things happen. A vetty appointment might help get it all in perspective, so I agree that you could easily take Neko in a few weeks early. That's what I'm doing with Rusty this week.

Have a good evening. I hope your weather improves (but it IS the PNW, after all  ).

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty
