11/3 Kona AMPS 257, 184 +2.75, +5 157, PMPS 323, +1 265, +2 225, +3 208

Can you tell if it was Kona or your civvie? Sorry. can't remember her name - Cleo?
Great question, they have separate litter boxes. Although sometimes they rarely switch up, I think it’s unlikely it was Cleo.

I’m not noticing any other signs for concern. I’ll give her extra liquid today in her food snacks here at +1 & +2.

Maybe she is still stressed from vet drive/appointment day prior or the 1-TDC I gave her yesterday for her dental.

Follow-up Vet appointment for blood panel taken on Wednesday is today at 4PM.

Wonder if this is causing the diarrhoea? Anyway, if it's one-off, I wouldn't worry.

Good luck with the vet today :)

You might be right, I was wondering the same.

I usually give once or twice a week. I will wait until next Thursday to give to her, then check Friday morning if it is reoccurring.

I started the FortiFlora more recently. Maybe her stomach is adjusting. I’ll watch that as well.

Making notes now.

Thanks @Bandit's Mom :cat:

Happy Friday!

I posted lab results for Kona in the spreadsheet for the following dates: 5/14, 7/20, 8/17, 11/2

I'm still reviewing results, but the glucose level that was taken and frutosmine values slightly suggests to me I'm not doing the best job in regulation. However, it is my understanding the glucose test taken at the time at the vet can be elevated due to vet trip stress and the fructosomine number is an average of about the last two weeks of glucose levels. I have made a lot of changes in the last two weeks, so I'm trying not to worry too much on those findings. Kona's vet was not worried about these either and suggested to keep on doing what I'm doing after a review of my spreadsheet and my overall care.

The more concerning finding is the testing lab has being doing a "Renal Tech prediction" the last 4 panels. The first three said inconclusive... but the recent result indicated a grim prediction on Kona havina a trajectory of developing chronic kidney disease. See image below:

The vet told me not to worry as that is in the future, but I insisted on some sort of proactive/preventative way to reverse this prediction. I purchased Weruva Wx Phos focused wet foods a few weeks ago with what I believe to be a great food for cats that actually have kidney disease. I think I'm going to supplement Kona's food with this low phos food in an attempt to curb whatever is contribuiting to the kidney disease, which may be elevated phosophous? I have no clue.... I do know that Weruva is clear that this food is NOT well balanced and is not a complete food, so I may do half and half or just add some here and there. Doing whatever I can.. hoping I can help! Side note: horrible news, my good friend called and was hysterical, their family cat has FIP & FIA. =( They have GS-441524 treament en route and will be embarking on their journey with these very serious cat dieseases I had never heard of. Man! I don't know if I can have any more animals in my life. They bring me tremendous joy, but dealing with all this is crazy!

I wouldn't worry about CKD just yet. Was SDMA a part of the tests run? What about phosphorus, calcium etc? It's a good idea to supplement her with the Wx food. Try and get her to drink more water. Maybe add a tsp of water with every meal.

I think you can go up to 1U tomorrow. Let's try and get her into green.

SDMA results:
5/14: 9.3 (<15)
11/2: 9.3 (<15)

The only phos and calcium I have is back on 5/14:
Calcium: 9.9 (range 8.2-10.8)
Phosphorus: 3.1 (range 2.4-8.2)

It's a good idea to supplement her with the Wx food.

Yup, on it! One thing after another... I swear everyday I'm adding things to the list. =)

Breaking out the water fountains! I think I can increase her water intake by the fancy fountains she used to love before I stop putting them all because they were a pain in the ass to clean.

I'll take the challenge! Bumping to 1U tomorrow morning! I WANT GREENS!!! :D:D:D:D

Oh the Petlibro is great!! My cats like it far more than the pain in the butt 360's I have.

I am with @Bandit's Mom about not worrying about CKD yet. That elevated BUN could simply be dehydration (which you are already remedying), as her creatinine looks okay. We know diabetic cats can get dehydrated easily, so water is your best course of action right now. Her phos was good when you last tested it, just have them run that panel with the phos and liver tests next time to keep eyes on it.

My other cat Penny has CKD, so happy to help however I can (though I don't think necessary for now). Ivy of @Staci & Ivy also has it plus FD, so she will be knowledgeable about the dual diagnosis and handling FD with it, if you ever get to that point (and hopefully you don't!!)

Good luck with the increase! :bighug:

Hi Jason, all great advice from Alli. Don’t get to crazy over the ckd just yet. But adding water is a great idea. I add 3 Oz water to each feeding of wet food and it’s pretty soup-like that Ivy eats.
She’s been eating this for years, even prior to FD diagnosis last year.
I feed a recipe which was formulated by a veterinary nutritionist which addresses FD & ckd.
You’re doing great by the way! :bighug::bighug:

There's' treatment for FIP which you mentioned. Tell her to join FIP Warriors on Facebook. There's a wealth of knowledge and support
