I am very happy to see that Weezer spent several hours yellow last night. I hope with all my heart to see this trend continue with even lower numbers following. If that is not to be, I must open my mind to the possibilities raised in our condo last night. I must say the idea of Weezer being a high dose kitty does not surprise me, it has been clamoring at the edges of my consciousness for a while. Although I am an optimist, I don’t usually retreat from reality. But I just don’t know how we can handle another diagnosis. FD has blown us out of the water. If only my heart had its own credit card.

Wishing a kitty day for all, plenty of purrs, play, sunny spots and lots of love.

Whatever the diagnosis is or isn't, doesn't matter to Weezer. He'll be the same kitty. The only difference the IGF and IAA testing does is give you a different strategy on dosing. Sandy and Julie can talk about their experiences with insulin resistance and acro, respectively. If a couple of blood tests give you a better handle on how to manage Weezer's BG numbers then knowledge is power and you are doing even more to help Weezer.

Yep, I know the feeling all too well, too. As Sienne said, though, knowing if Weezer has one of the high dose conditions just gives you more power and control over how to treat her particular FD.

With that said, back to surfing the yellows or even blues, Miss Weezer!!!

either way I know you will continue to do the best for Weezer and he'll love you all the more for it. Have you considered a switch to levemir at all? I found Tray responded much better to it even though it's almost the same as Lantus. Food for thought.

(((((Linda))))) Sometimes, it just seems more than we can bear but somehow we do because we'll do everything we can. That's how we feel about Zener and that's how you feel about Weezer. So give yourself a little time to adjust and decide how you want to proceed. You are doing a great job with Weezer. All you have to do is remember how she was before diagnosis and how she is now. She is lucky to have you as her bean.

Linda, I really hope that this is the dose that helps Weezer. If it isn't, then you will do what you have always done...take care of your baby. You are such a good bean and even though it gets so tough sometimes, Weezer is doing so much better than before you started this crazy sugar dance. Big, big hugs to you today.

I remember when the suggestion was made to have BK tested for acro. I didn't want to hear it. . . but we had to find out why he was such a big gulper.
So we had the test done. . .and it came back negative. Whew!

So why the 38-40u (lantus and R combined) daily insulin - and still mostly a sea of pink???
More head scratching. . .last 2 possibilities - Cushings and something called IAA (which almost no one had heard of at the time).
Cushings came back negative - IAA very strong positive - 84%.
We finallly knew the reason, although we really were in uncharted territory. Still, we made it through.
Knowledge is power. guides you onto the right path.
No matter what - Her Royal Highness is in very good hands - she will prevail :-D

(((((Linda))))) hugs to you and Weezer girl. No matter what the outcome is, Weezer is still your girl and the same kitty, you would still love her the same no matter what the dx is. Do you think having all the tests done would give you some peace of mind?

Awww Linda, this must be so frustrating. You take such good care of Miss Weezer. Hoping you keep seeing more yellows and hit a breakthrough dose soon.

I am hoping you get some real action soon and Weezer's numbers come down. A nice string of yellows would be acceptable for now and then blues. Whatever the case may be, there is treatment and you will find the path that works for her.

You are a wonderful bean!! Loving, caring, and doing all the right stuff--
Whatever it takes for Weezer to come down, is what you'll do because you love him..
One great thing about cats--they dont know there is anything wrong with them, they think they are always the same---And for that we Love them..
Hoping he will come back down to nice numbers by himself--Hugs & Love from us!

Hi guys - I so concur with all said here. Whatever the outcome, Weezer is still Weezer. I hope that the numbers come down soon for you. The y may be a little high, but at least they are consistent - that part I like, no matter what color it may be. Good luck with all - I think you have done a great job.
