Yesterday
Shadow had 5 Ps yesterday and 3 today so far. Yesterday he was playing with the ball, the morning he gets a P for puking...although that is not really on the list of Ps that we count. Not sure what is up with him but he vomited some clear liquid ...saw a few FD bites. He didn't seem to enthused about eating this morning although he was right at my head, speaking and squeaking 20 minutes before my alarm was scheduled to go off. He let me go back and snooze and yet it was strange that he was trying to wake me. He then serenaded me in the bathroom and all seemed normal until he didn't really eat well. I hope to entice him with some other menu choice in a little while.

aww shadow .. sorry to hear you are not feeling well ... those are such nice numbers you had last night you should be able to enjoy them today ... well I heard your bean is going to find something extra yummy for you to eat so just hang tight ok? Have a great day guys!

Good morning Pat and Shadow. Could it be that Shadow is just upset that the holiday weekend has come to an end? Sometimes my civvie Ralph, who is the resident Hoover, doesn't feel like eating. He will get up with me, but when it comes to breakfast time, he's no where around. By the time I get home from work, he is ready for a snack. Hopefully Shadow is just having a little upset tummy and will be back to normal by mid morning.

I gave him 1/4 Pepcid in a little cheese and 10 minutes later, he vomited again. I offered tuna water and he was not interested. He is now sitting by the screen door, looking out at the world. Ok, he wandered down the hallway and is just looking up at me now. Hmmm...he will keep dropping with no food. +7 last night he ate just fine. He is acting fine so that is a good thing but I would like to start doing something for him.

I sure hope Shadow's feeling better SOON - let's hope some of the Pepcid stayed put and helps to settle things..

I got a little baby food into his mouth...about 1/2 teaspoon altogether. (why is my cat the only cat in the whole world who does not eat baby food?) then I put out some catnip which he ate a bit of. Then, he went to the tuna water, drank some of that and back to his food dish and ate a tiny bit of that, then a little more tuna water.
He was head butting me the whole time I sat with him, kissing me, purring and acting okay.
Now he is back by the screen door. I hope this stays down. It was not a lot of anything, but little licks....at least he seems as if he is trying to eat....

Feel better soon Shadow, you need your fuds. I hope this is just an off morning Pat. Sometime you just aren't hungry. Did he get extra food in the last couple days w/ the low numbers?

I gave him temptations last night with dinner...but he seemed fine during the night.

Ah Shadow I hope your tummy feels better real soon. Upset tummies are no fun that's for sure. Try and eat a little. We don't want you cliff diving.

Those are awful nice numbers this morning, but I would rather see Shadow eat. I'm sending happy tummy vines to Shadow. I hope he's better soon.

to stay in him. Usually when kitties vomit clear liquid it is because they might have a little too much acid in their tummies from being hungry...not having enough
food in the stomach. Hope he's eating better soon!

Gave him some syringed HC gravy...and now he is eating Raja's leftovers! I hope this is a good sign. I sprinkled some fortiflora over some FF and now he is eating that. Fingers crossed.

Laurie says clear and frothy pukus means they need to eat and that always seems to be the case around here. Reckon he's just holding out for gravy? :lol:

I buy wheat grass at the health food store when my monsters get an upset tummy - works well and they really like it. way way cheaper than kitty oats and I can pick it up when I'm doing grocery shopping. Do you have a Sprouts? That's where I get it.

Holy moley Shadow! I'm glad he's trying to eat a little - hope it stays down and he feels better quickly. ((Pat)) I know it's hard when they don't eat. Oh, and btw, he's not the only cat who won't eat baby food... :lol:

I guess the food he ate at +4 with the Fortiflora didn't do much for him. Thankfully, he seems to be holding things down....
He had eaten at +7 as he does each night...and usually, if he vomits before eating, he feels better and then eats.
Today was different. He ate some FD chicken on top of his food and threw that up. I gave him the piece of cheese and the pepcid and he vomited awhile after that. He didn't seem hungry so that's why I gave him the pepcid...
He is such a good boy with the syringing. I hate giving him the karo but I need to get his numbers up. I hope this is okay on his fairly empty stomach. He did eat a little FF at +4 with the FD chicken on top. I thought he would be feeling better after that. At least he didn't vomit again. Will check him again in 5.....
Thanks for you well wishes....appreciate it. I hate this when they don't seem to want to eat and with the insulin, one cannot just wait to see if they will feel better on their own. I hope it's nothing else. He is purring and seems fine...not meatloafing....just relaxing....

He is on my bed. I had to thank him for staying out in the open and for being such a good kitty. If he wasn't that sick before, he sure will be sick now... ohmygod_smile

There is another Raja...shown on Sept's page. Wow! but my Raja is on the November page with Shadow. They are with Donovan, KB, Spot and Emma....Marco, Tesla (GA) and Norton (GA) are also on the page! I LOVE it SO much!!
I see Binks and Do Lou, J.D. and Kasha, Punkin, Blackie, Maui and Lucy and Jazzy, and Gabby and Jezebel...and Muffin and Lanky! Powder is there ans so are Tori and Big Mac, and Alex and Mannie. Raja loved the one of Tess and her jewels!! LOL And there are beautiful pictures of Stu and Bear Man, Tuscany and Latte...and Harley and Meowzi...and Lightning and Doodle too! And so many more!!! :mrgreen:

Wow....that karo really worked on him!!! I also hope it doesn't upset his tummy but you didn't have any choice...you always do what's best for them. That 37 is not like Shadow at all!! Great job, Pat. Maybe he'll surf a little here and not drop back down after the karo wears off.

He bounced after that karo...but he ate his +8 snack just fine. whew. DH fluffed what was left in the bowl, shadow kept lying there, so DH put it right under his nose and Shadow ate the rest of it. Isn't that cute that DH fluffs their food? He got such a kick out of it this time though. I guess his coaxing got Shadow to finish it all up! :mrgreen:

He ate at +8 and then at dinner, he walked away again! I had added some gravy to his LC and I guess he didn't want any. Not surprised after today. Then, I made a new plate and put Fortiflora on it and he ate that. He is acting fine...I just don't know what's going on. I hope he will continue to eat now....these numbers are just so unusual for him.
Instead of being happy about them, I am getting worried... :YMSIGH:
 
I'm sorry you're getting worried. That up and down this afternoon was weird. Are you more worried about Shadow eating or his low numbers? And he's acting okay, right? I hope he's feeling okay and will eat better tonight.
 
Sorry to hear about Shadow's strange day Pat....glad that he's eating more though and hopefully he's able to keep it down. I agree with the comment that the clear/foamy vomit is because they are hungry...prior to Lightning being diagnosed he would do the same thing and my vet told me it was cause he was hungry. So giving some food later at night helped with that. Try not to worry too much, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for you guys.

And P.S, agree with your comment on the calendar....loved seeing all the cute kitties!!!
 
WOW!! Shadow what's that a bee in your beret?? You arent hungry?? I think it's going around as mine wouldnt eat tonite or today much either!!
