11/29 Loki AMBG 52

Previous Post

Welp still having hypos with 0.25 units last night and nothing this morning. And seems like whatever depot is left *should* be at least almost out. And his sensor decided to stop working too. So at this point, would I just trial off insulin for now and monitor BG trend?

Usually we’d try 0.1u first, but since you’ve skipped this morning, and he’s still getting into 40’s, I’ll check with a few others in the meantime and we’ll see if there is any benefit to 0.1u tonight :)

If you don’t mind as well, Megan, could you please change your title to AMBG which indicates you didn’t give insulin this morning. :)

Megan- first of all, my apologies for typing your name wrong earlier, it was either an auto-fill error or lack of coffee . While the BG numbers are trending in the right direction on the smaller doses yesterday, there are a couple of things you may want to consider.

Since the Libre sensor has stopped working, I wonder if you have a handheld meter that you can use to see what Loki’s numbers look like today? I went back a few posts in the main forum and wasn’t sure if you had a handheld meter, since you just had Libre data when you first joined. The handheld BG tests are helpful since we often see the Libre reading unnecessarily lower than the handheld at lower numbers.

Second, since you’ve had a few dose adjustments and NS in the mix over the last few cycles, it would be worth still trying to give 0.1u, particularly too since Loki still had blues in yesterday’s cycles. The little bit of extra insulin for as long as we can do it, will help give Loki a stronger remission.

Here is a pic of 0.1u. How does this sound? Do you think you can do some handheld meter tests along with some continued insulin?
