Good morning LantusLand! Yesterday's Pink PJs

AMPS 243

At least we're starting off in yellow instead of pink! He went on a playing rampage about 3am - slapped everything he passed, toys, brothers, dog bowls, shoes...then got on the shelves where we keep dog food cans and began pushing cans off onto the floor. ShuShu and Nuisance both came to our bedroom to get out of his way.

We received even ANOTHER gift yesterday - I thought TWO huge boxes of food from Anne/Liz/Zener was such a wonderful, amazing gift for us - yesterday, I get THREE MORE BOXES FULL OF MORE FOOD! I left the boxes out in the floor for a while and just sat in the middle of them grinning like an idiot. There's so many different kinds - one whole box of LC that even KT can eat! He's already approved two of them and asked for more!

Lots of thoughts and prayers for MJ who lost Donovan yesterday, Heather lost Raja, Kelli trying to save Loki and a few others that won't come to mind as I type this. We ask for peace, calm and comfort as they each need it.

Sounds like KT is feeling good. I agree that yellow is much better than pink. KT and Tarragon are on the same page today. So wonderful about the food. We have some generous loving people on this board. This is the feel good condo of the day again.

For some reason today, when I reached down to pet one of our outside cats, he turned and attacked my left hand badly. By the time I could get him scruffed, he'd sliced 4 huge gashes down the side of my hand and 2 deep bite marks. He's NEVER done this, never even acted like he would so I can't figure out why. We have a tree trimming service in the area clearing elec lines - it makes a horrible loud screeching noise for hours on end. I don't know if that was it or just what but I know I didn't scare him. I cleaned them all immediately, the bites are fine but one scratch, really more of two deep punctures are swelling. Those happened when I scruffed him and turned him around to get face to face with him - claws were still buried in my hand. I've soaked it several times already but sure is going to be sore tomorrow! AH - good excuse to do NOTHING all day huh!!! I may be typing one fingered tomorrow.... :roll:

Cat scratch wounds are nothing to play with. Please get care if you even think maybe it might be infected. Please.

LOL on the "rampage" - I can so totally visualize it! Yes, LL is probably the most amazing place on earth, isn't it??

Definitely keep a close eye on that wound!!!

The story behind 'Squeaky'. First, that's the name I use on other forums and used as my email address forever - literally as I was one of the first 'internet email' accounts....worked for telephone company divisions that worked on it.

The REASON - I've collected mouse figurines for 37 years and several years ago, had the largest 'non Disney' mouse collection in the US. I have over 2400 of them from 1/4" nose to tail up to average of 8". I have bigger but I've tried to limit the size. I don't do stuffed ones. Right now they're where all good mice should be - wrapped up in their warm nest boxes and packed away safely in my closet. I WILL have them all out again - there's only 60-70 out right now....

So....there's no such cat as 'Squeaky' altho' that's Pepper's nickname...I'm the squeaky mouse... :-D

One of these days we're gonna have a 'treasure hunt' in LLand with clues of little known facts about people here...like this... :-D

Thank you but I really just do what needs done regardless of how many legs 'it' has....

Hubby's form is the low potassium 'hypokalemic' paralysis. His attacks are usually full body and many times happen literally between rolls of a yatzee game, in the middle of walking, between clicks to turn solitare cards. When he has an attack, I have to give this limp, semi-conscious person liquid potassium by mouth. His muscles can't stiffen and sometimes can move with extreme effort but at others, he can't. This affects most muscles including breathing, swallowing, eyes. He's floppy like a newborn baby that must be supported everywhere....a 200 lb baby. :? When he seems to be tired or showing weak signs, I stay nearby the whole day. All this began at a time when we had no insurance and is considered 'pre existing' by Medicare right now. When we retired 9 years ago, we had the world by the horns - retirement account, retirement home paid for, a 40' bus conversion and were ready to enjoy it all...then this started. We've had to sell everything but the house we're in, bombed the retirement account, he draws early social sec. I can't work outside to augment as I must be with him 24/7. That's why the food, strips, syringes, insulin - all of it - are such wonderfully appreciated gifts.

This is another 'there's a reason for this' - I have no idea what it is but we just walk forward one day at a time.

Whew I run on and on don't I???
