When stress overtakes us due to high numbers (or whatever our personal trigger might be), it’s always good to step back and look at “
the whole cat report.” How are the 5 P’s — Peeing, Pooping, Purring, Playing, Preening?? Because cats are more than just BG numbers, and sometimes (often!) we need to remind ourselves of that.
If you “zoom out” you’ll see that Eddie has come down from 15u to 7.5-8u in less that two months. That is stellar! A few wobbles along the way don’t necessarily mean something ominous, although I completely understand and relate to a fear of the “what if-ism.” I’ve been there too with various issues in my menagerie, and sometimes we have as much an internal battle with ourselves as with whatever disease we’re fighting in them. Just please remember to
enjoy Eddie’s presence every day. It’s an obvious statement, but it’s also easy to get wrapped around the medical axle and not really be present. Give Eddie a big hug for me, bury your face in his fur, and breathe deep.
