11/29 Eddie AMPS 378 +3 356 +7 193 PMPS 254 +2 164 +3 124 +4 122

Well, at +3 356, I'm really wondering what happened. @Wendy&Neko says not SRT-related.

But why is he staying so high? I did test for ketones last night and that's not a problem but I always get quite anxious about the high numbers. I get worried, really, that the SRT not working and we're back with acromegaly.

@FrostD @Bandit's Mom and anyone else with acromegaly concerns????

No, not yet. I think it's just one of those things that happens. I still think reducing was the right call at the time, but perhaps going forward we do wait for a drop under 78.

So now that you’ve got that 193, I’m guessing you’re breathing again. :)

When stress overtakes us due to high numbers (or whatever our personal trigger might be), it’s always good to step back and look at “the whole cat report.” How are the 5 P’s — Peeing, Pooping, Purring, Playing, Preening?? Because cats are more than just BG numbers, and sometimes (often!) we need to remind ourselves of that.

If you “zoom out” you’ll see that Eddie has come down from 15u to 7.5-8u in less that two months. That is stellar! A few wobbles along the way don’t necessarily mean something ominous, although I completely understand and relate to a fear of the “what if-ism.” I’ve been there too with various issues in my menagerie, and sometimes we have as much an internal battle with ourselves as with whatever disease we’re fighting in them. Just please remember to enjoy Eddie’s presence every day. It’s an obvious statement, but it’s also easy to get wrapped around the medical axle and not really be present. Give Eddie a big hug for me, bury your face in his fur, and breathe deep. :bighug:

You know, that's so beautifully said, thank you. It was only last night that Eddie came and, for the first time in two months, put his legs on my lap and purred. It's been uphill because I know his hypothalamus was injured in the surgery and for awhile I despaired of having the Eddie back at all. He has moments of hissing and licking my hand at the same time. Last night, he just came and sat with me and I wanted to cry. I felt so grateful. I've been overdetermined with keeping the numbers because at times it's felt like that's all I could control. I love him dearly and yet I realized he may never be who he was but then there was last night and he was again. I am so grateful for this support here, which takes all forms.

It's miraculous that Eddie has come down from 15u to 7.5-8u in less than two months. It was possible only through here. I would not have know how to negotiate the path without help. I will bury my face in his fur, even if he hisses. Thank you.

We're all rooting for you guys! People say this is the best little unknown corner of the internet, and I tend to agree.

It's funny, Android released a beta bedtime/sleep tracker last week. I figured I'd try it, since I've been doing a terrible job getting enough sleep. I set the bedtime to 1030, so any activity I do after that it tracks and keeps reminding me...FDMB is activity #1 haha And then I realized - my bedtime is 1130 or later because I have see Eddie's PMPS!

OMG, that's so great!! :):cat:

@FrostD if you are still awake, we've got PMPS +2 164 . We're back in the blue zone.

Maybe @Bandit's Mom , if we're back in the blue zone @ +2, I guess I'm on the night shift?

I guess the +2 164 calls for a +3 and maybe a +6? Should I feed a little LC now?

Thanks to @JL and Chip for the good words and @Wendy&Neko for the patience pants reminder.
