Not sure why the red this morning since he had a very slow and steady drop last night. But he seemed to have come down by +5 so far.

A few days ago I noticed his front legs would give out while sitting and he would shift his legs from one to the other. I know he has arthritis since I hear "clicking" sounds when he's walking (and no, it's not his nails because the sound is audible even when he's walking on my mattress or just "kneading" his bed). And last night I noticed his hind legs are starting to show neuropathy signs. It makes me sooooooo sad to see that :cry: I went ahead and bought Xobaline online and will start him on it as soon as I receive it. I'm kicking myself for not starting him on it earlier...

Just want to know what others on the board are giving their cats for arthritis? I want to start him on that as well. Thanks!

lots of kitties here with arthritis...
you might want to put "arthritis question" in your subject line to catch more eyes.

Binksy still has some neuropathy issues, but they are miniscule...began improving visibly with the xobaline...but only when he got fairly regulated.
I know others have seen different results.
one thing i think is true is that neuropathy in kitties is not painful as it is in humans...

(someone please correct me if that's wrong)

Hi Alicia--OK all is NOT lost!! Moonie had severe neuropathy when we first came- couldnt jump up anywhere, hid all the time & walked on her hocks(not on the toes)--She also had a floating kneecap!--
She was on the methylcobalamin(Xobaline) for several weeks(like 6-8) till I saw a difference...
She can jump up just about anywhere she wants, she walks half on her toes, and half on her hocks now..
She is so much better than she was when she was DX'd in 2008...She is a different girl!

Please have faith that we here know what works especially with the neuropathy--It can be reversible, but takes some time to see a difference--Sending Healing vines for you furbaby's legs, and hope you see results soon..HUgs from us!

We give our civvie, Mario, adequan injections for his arthritis. His was fairly advanced when we started it. I know others use cosequin or dasuquin with success, too. We only ever tried cosequin, but it didn't really seem to agree with Mario. The adequan has been quite miraculous for him, though. While he'll never be as spry as he was in is younger days (he's now 16.5), his posture has greatly improved, and he once again goes running through the house, plays, and does't "bunny hop" down the stairs anymore. I can tell when he needs a "booster" because his posture starts to falter and the clicking returns.

Needless to say, adequan has to be prescribed by your vet, but cosequin and dasuquin don't require scripts. Also, it was originally believed that adequan needed to be given as an intramuscular injection, and that is still a common belief. However, it can also be given as a subQ injection, and I can atest to the fact that it does work as a SubQ!
