'Tis the season to be jolly, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la .... Just ask Lola!

Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Ahhhhhh.... elixir! Thanks Elsa), and Happy Catmint Caturday!

They are running a Caturday Catnip special today, in honor of Catmint Caturday - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese. Best order early! OOOOOOOOO! They have perfected their NY Style hot dog pies. MAJOR YUM!!!! Try one, you'll see! Just order the Mannie and Stu Special! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... It is my bean's fav! SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... AND (!!!) Since it is the holiday season, we have EGGNOG! Mannie's secret recipe! I found it on my pillow this morning... I wonder how that got there.... Mannie I lUVS you! THX! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

I hope everyone had a great week. ;-) The days with the boys have been good ones! We have been very busy, that part of life has not changed. Will it ever? ;-) NOPE!! :-D :-D :-D    What a BUSY week! The other grandparents are still on vacation, until 12/2, so I have the boys five days a week, short of the Thanksgiving holiday.          With the holiday this week it wasn't as hectic. well, in theory anyways. We spent Thanksgiving at Nicholas's and William's house, had the merriest of times. We have also been swimming, including a family swim night, and to the park. Been busy indoors too, with the aquarium and the science center. We have had lunches just about everywhere, car camping some too, and indoors on benches. Funny how the boys love those impromptu eat wherever lunches. Life is good! :-D :-D :-D

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday Family Night were our swimming days this week. That's alot of pool time! William went Tuesday and Friday, Nicholas went Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nght. At the risk of being repetitive, what I wrote last week still is true this week:
They both are truly water babies. William has taken to it all so well. He never cries when there, always asks for more of whatever he is playing on. He doesn't seem to mind when the water spray features are on. He loves the slides, and wants to climb up the stairs on his own. So we do, slide down together.  NEW: Friday night he so wanted to do the big big tube slide. Dad took him up, but it seems the crowds yup their and the "chaos" got the better of him. I am continuing to introduce him to being underwater, for short periods at a time. He doesn't seem to mind them, I've even had a few smiles. He's adjusted to back floating, and "swimming" on his front. I have no doubt that he will like this as much as Nicholas does. In fact he never wants to leave when it is time to go. We have a new chant: MORE!  Nicholas continues to be very supportive of William's efforts in the pool. He still asks how he did when he can't swim with him, tells me what I should be training him on, asks if he did certain things. It is cool when he says" "He's doing great Grammie!" Yes, that he is. He was very proud of his brother Friday night, AWESOME! Nicholas continues to be our energizer fishie. That I think will never change. he just has so much fun with it all. He continues to LOVE the new pool we started going to a few months ago, in Snohomish. It really is a wonderful experience, and he can do alot of the things he likes there: like the slides, the lazy river, and deep water jumping and diving. That has become our new Friday pool. It is a ways away so it does add to our commuting time, but we all agree that it is very much worth the effort and time spent. We are still trying to "convince" Nicholas that swim lessons would be great... oh sure! Last night he tells me that he is "never taking that swim test!" Hmmmmm.... silly kid!
I continue teach him what I can. He continues to make lots of new friends when he goes. it's fun to see him connect up with kids when he gets there. Last night while we had the whole family there at the Snohomish pool. That was such a BLAST! Nicholas was so excited to be swimming with his dad and mom and brother. He did so many things that I have been telling his mom and dad he can do. How cool that he got to show off. Finally they could see for themselves. We also tackled the big tube slide too. His dad took him down, and after that there was no stopping him. He just loved it! talked his mom into going down too. Such an incredible amount of fun. We all just love pool days, and are grateful that we have the pools and the time to be able to do this. GO NICK! GO WILLIAM!

Nicholas still looks forward to our after swim Friday Night Burger Feast I know I write this each week, but that is just so fun: burgers and fries, just him and me, with lots of fun stories. He was so happy to see that burger and fries combo show up, just like always. Somehow I think that is part of the magic of Friday night swims: that he gets burgers etc after his swim. last night was an added bonus, as mom and dad and his brother were there. Burgers for William too. That was awesome! William loved his as much as Nicholas did. He still makes a point of making sure I have packed it all, and asked when I met him at the pool. He also thinks it would be a good idea if I packed a jar of pickles, as it seems there are never enough on his burger.   Last night he only got 4 pickles on that burger (the record is 12  ), while William got 6! So unfair..... Since William was a little iffy on the pickles he got WIlliam's too.  I so need to buy that jar! GREAT TIME!

and..... no hiking for me this week! Bummer! But the time with the boys was a great offset, and we did make it out alot, so I remain content. The weather has turned rainy at any rate, with lots of snow now in the mountains. At times the passes have been closed, so.... I guess the hiking season is more or less "over". Oh well, time to focus on lowland stuff. We do have several very nice ones that fit that category. The rains were so ad here on W, TH and FR that we had several areas closed due to flooding, as well as many rivers that were ear flood stage, Crazy weather! Last night we had a COLD front move in that brought lots of snow over night,.   :o . I woke up to about 3" (alot for us) of white stuff, and it was still coming down. :o   Blue skies have since taken over. WOW: it is incredibly beautiful out there! It is suppose to get even colder tonight, I downer if I will wake up to an ice skating rink out there tomorrow morning.

Monday, after Nicholas morning swim, we just stayed at his Grammie Connie's for a while. The weather was awful: winds and rains, so just better to be indoors It has been a while since they have been able to spend time with her. She was able to get William out for a short walk between downpours, which was great! That little boy loves to be out. We played boys things, like cars and trucks and chase and rolling down stairs. Well Nicholas dd most of the rolling. She has decorated for the holidays, and William is so taken back by the miniature Christmas trees she has. Rather than one big one she has 4 small, 1-2' tall ones throughout the house. He made sure to check them all out several times during our stay there. It was a great afternoon.

Tuesday after Williams's swim ad Nicholas's school we were off to the Science Center. Once again the weather was not our friend, what rains! and winds! and little sun! so........ Nicholas's solution was the Pacific Science Center. SWEET! and an excellent choice. This seems to our rainy day place, we've been every week for over a month now. Science center was alot of fun, both boys got into just about everything, Even William wants to participate. That was fun to see. I think we spent 2 hours there, what time we had, did all we could in such a short time span. Nicholas has gotten very good at knowing the afternoon visits are short ones, and he has to choose what he wants to see. Nicholas likes the place, is getting much better at understanding some of the science behind what he interacts with. William just likes pushing all the buttons turning all those knobs and running from exhibit room to exhibit room. ;-) It's a great place, lots to do, lots for them to learn. Neither boy wanted to leave....It is nice though to see them accept and know that these afternoon trips are short ones, and that they have to be selective in what they see. Both boys did well with that aspect. I love Science Center days.

Wednesday Afternoon, after Nicholas's swim, some time spent with their Grammie Connie, my DMIL, who watched William for me while Nicholas was in the pool, we were off to the Seattle Aquarium, in search of fishies! ALWAYS a favorite of the boys. Nicholas asked to go to the Seattle Aquarium, so off we we went. YAY! We had just been there last week, but they just never tire of it. They sure did have a great time. William is so much more mobile, so it was nice to be able to set him down and let him roam. The joy of discovery on his face was just so awesome! The section that was the biggest hit was the tide pools, where they have so many anemones, starfish, etc. They allow hands (well, your "science finger") in there, so William got to experience his third rounds with the anemones. Loved that, as did he: all smiles. I wrote this last week abut our visit, and it still holds true for this weeks visit:
It is interesting that Nicholas also enjoys the interactive screens that they have it here. We visit them all, with me reading what they say, him doing what needs to be done to get it all to work. Great leaning tool! William is a HUGE fan of the tropical fish tanks.    He just LOVES them, and can't get enough of any of the tanks. He gets so excited as these fish swim by his face, with him following them with his fingers, all the while saying "FISHIE!!!!!"We also spent alot of time in the "Under the Dome" section of the aquarium, which basically allows viewing from all sides and the top. It is a very cool area. Nicholas perched himself on a railing and watched the fish do their thing. William was busy "chasing" them back and forth. :-D What a great day!!!

Wednesday morning was something else... Nicholas will be able to watch an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse prior to any planned activities, as long as it isn't a school day where time just doesn't support it. We start he program, only to hear meows from Lola. Next thing I know she is perched up on the stand for the TV, and is watching it too. She was mesmerized, just kept watching-all the action on the screen. She stayed for the whole program. LOL: Lola had a thing for a mouse. Irony there somehow!

THANKSGIVING!!! We spent the day at Nicholas's and William's. Dinner was fantastic, and I was told that Nicholas helped with most of it. We arrived to his more than welcome greeting, as he ran out to meet us, shouting "You made it!!" over and over again.  It was a great time together as a family. My two other sons also came, Dinner was great, as was dessert. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving if the football game of the night wasn't on, so we watched our Seattle Seahawks play San Francisco. Woot! we won! I am grateful for so many things... my family, my life, and all you here on LL that allow me to continue to post here, and even take the time to read this never sending novel/saga. I am grateful for my furkids who just seem to make life complete. My list is endless.... I woke up that morning thinking about Mannie, his image was just so vivid. Somehow I think he came home for Thanksgiving, for a bit. I spend time that morning watching his Tribute video, his One Year Gone video, just remembering. I miss all that he was, and his role her n LL/. Seems just like yesterday that he was being the force he was in LL. What great times they were! Here's t you Mannie! ThX for spending time with me on Thanksgiving. :-D

Friday was a stay at home day... no Black Friday chaos for me,.  I did some online holiday shopping, reminiscing about the way things used to be. I grew up in a very small town, where Holiday shopping meant actually getting out to the store, and they were all small locally owned stores, and shop there. What fun it was back then, I knda miss those days, things sure are different nowadays. We also decorated some too, got about 3/4 of the house decor up. Of course Lola had to help. She was into everything! EVERYTHING! I drew the line when it came time to put up the railing garlands, and she just wouldn't leave them alone, all the while walking back and forth ion the railing... So she was confined to quarters for abit so I could get hat thing up without incident. Once sprung from prison she made a point of inspecting it all, making sure I had done it right. Back and forth she went on that railing, looking at it all. Crazy cats! what a fun morniong, a prelide to all the FUN to eb ahd by the family at the pool that night. :-D :-D :-D

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties are all doing well. Not too much new with them... Fall move into winter mode is here, they are bunkering down, but still yearning for the great outdoors when the sun is out. Elsa still ventures out, and when out she doesn't stay long. Bug could care less, Lola is ALWAYS grounded, and always wants OUT. Lola has been trying to be good, and for the most part I'm not yelling LOLA! after whatever it is she did.   I can hardly wait for Christmas and all we went through with her last year. I can still see that tree swaying....   We had fun putting up the decor yesterday, a prelude I am sure to the grands adventure of the tree, that will probably happen next weekend. We had snow last night and now the temps are really dropping, so that fluffy stuff is now icy stuff, and the kitties do not want to have anything to doth it. Elsa went out, stayed 1 minute and then back in she was, complaining the whole time.  last week she has decided lately to nap on my lap, usually in the early morning hours when I am on the 'puter. cool! That has continued this week, sometime in the afternoon too. It is amazing how serene and calm and content she looks when she is sleeping.... Of course this was only after she has these marathon run through the house for close to 30 minutes. Elsa whacks her for even thinking she wants to join. Bug of course did, runs right along with her, stopping now and then to play with a toy instead. GO KITTIES!! And yes, Nicholas continues to talk about Mannie.... cat_pet_icon

Have a great Caturday everyone. Sorry this post it late today. Sorry too I missed everyone's condos yesterday too. Time this morning, and the days, have gotten away from me, yet again. This morning has been laid back and relaxing, I did make that early morning walk out, just as the snows had stopped falling. it was gorgeous out there, but cold when the winds picked up. I would like to try for a woods walk, but falling the temp just went to 28, and will windchill they say it is closer to 19. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! So we shall see on that one. I may just end up looking at all the white from my window. it is so pretty now, with the sun shining, illuminating it all. Sparkles out there!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAy LL!!

Yet another busy week with so much done. You must have a lot of bathing suits to be able to go swimming so many days a week.

I LOVE the pics of Lola and the Christmas decorations. I still remember the tree swaying videos from last year. It's too funny how much they want to "help".

Thanksgiving looked like fun with the family, including pics of the grandkitty. It's definitely a time to remember. Those of us who got to know Mannie still miss him too. :YMHUG:

Snow overnight here too. I don't blame Elsa for not wanting out long. Neko's not interested at all in going out.

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAy LL!!

Ooooooooo, Lola! You gots garlands on your railings! I bets that's fun!!! I just got fences and lumber racks. The racks is fun! Want to come over and practice out parkour? -- Emma

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAy LL!!

I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving. It looks like everyone enjoyed the time together. I can just see Lola helping with the Christmas decorations. How funny she wanted to watch Mickey Mouse.

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAy LL!!

Michelle:

I hope you are copying your posts and putting them someplace safe in case of a Board crash or another migration to a server and posts aren't retrievable. You have such a wonderful chronicle of your grandkids early years -- especially the time with Nicholas and Manny, that I suspect this is something they will cherish when they are old enough to appreciate all that you've written.

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAY LL!!

Hi Michelle,
Sorry I missed your LL condo last week. We were very busy in the city and I was using my ancient iPad, which is very slow and hard to type on. Anyway, I loved reading about and seeing your Thanksgiving celebrations and the Christmas-decorating fun for the kitties. And you have SNOW!! We have about 8 inches on the ground, but tonight it is supposed to rain/sleet/freezing rain/ and be generally lousy weather. I'm glad we got home yesterday.

Maybe Nicholas will encounter a great swimming instructor/guard and actually want to take lessons. He is such a fast learner.

Have a great evening and a fun rest of the weekend. Will you have the boys all 5 days this coming week?

Rusty says to tell Elsa, Bug, and Lola that he was so glad they came to the city. (Mannie was there, too.)

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAY LL!!

Greeting (!!!!) from the snowy frozen icy PNW! Where this weather come from.... it can go away any time now.   it is freaking cold here. We have 3/4" of snow, top temp was 30, headed to 22 tonight, winds at 15/25 mph, love that wind chill, and the "slush" on the street here has frozen. Woot we have an ice skating rink in my cul-de-sac.  omg.... I hear we got the brunt of it, minimal elsewhere. oh lucky me. doing my happy dance. lol. I will admit though, I was out in the stuff earlier today, a couple of hours until the cold got to me, and it is incredibly beautiful out there.

Hi Wendy ~O) :-D Oh too funny on those bathing sits... I do ave a few, but have stuck with just the one. It has lasted a long time! THX on the Lola pics. It is so fun for her, and I do have to admit I enjoy her love of life, no matter what she does. The tree will go up in a week probably, so I am anxious in a way to see what she will do, last year was classic. I too remember that tree swaying. Amazingly it never did fall down. I came home everyday thinking this would be the day I found it in the horizontal position. THX too on the Thanksgiving day pics. it was such a nice family day. Kitty is Nicholas's kitty, Puma, a senior at about 15 I think, and doing well, despite a few health issues. She's holding the line now, so that is nice. Me too on Mannie.... been thinking about him alot lately. Always do when it is Christmas and that tree goes up, He camped out under the tree, We always said it wasn't officially Christmas until Mannie was under the tree.

EMMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I got garlands! They are MEGA FUN, and hang and everything. I've been driving the bean crazy, she sometimes say bad words, ya know? I was trying to swing on one and well you can imagine what she said. You got fences???? and Lumber racks????? AW SOME! I'll be right over! it's so cold here that I want to go someplace warm. On my way !~~ Lola

Hi Carla ~O) :-D THX, it was such a nice Thanksgiving. Nice and relaxed, good food, some football, just a nice family time. Oh yes the fun has just begun with Lola and the decor. The next biggie: The tree! We all laughed so hard when we saw her watching Mickey Mouse. It just struck me as funny. She also likes football alot too.

Hi Sienne ~O) :-D WOW, you have lighted a fire in me. I have not done that, and really should. it would be such a great chronicle for the boys when they are older, when as you say, they can appreciate it all. You have a very valid point on any migration or crash, as I would loose all those posts. wow on it all.I will think on this tonight and get that done! I know I would regret not saving them for the boys. THx too on your comments, that is really appreciated.

Re: 11/29 LOOSE LIPS: We are thankful... HAPPY CATURDAY LL!!

Hi Ella ~O) :-D I missed your post! Sorry.... it must have posted at the same time as mine. No worries on the condos... I know all to well how it is, how life gets in the way sometimes. I so remember your "ancient" IPad and hat issues it caused you. :-D THX too on the pics for TG day, and on Lola. it is such a great holiday time, I look forward to it every year. I have read ow you guys have been ht with the weather! Wow on your 8" of the white stuff. We did get snow, the brunt of it in our little area here, about 3/4". And now it is freezing... oh well, glad I am home for the weekend. I too am glad you came home when you did. The weather there must be very trying, even if one is used to it. I hope so too on Nicholas and that one person that will get him going in lessons, He is a fast learner as you say, so know he'd do well if he'd just get over this little hurdle. I have the boys 4 days this coming week, I am covering for the other two on Monday as that is their return day, They should be back to do Tuesday, and then the rest of the week is my usual coverage. Ah Mannie.. I am so glad he made it there. Gosh I miss him. I hear that the three kitties here loved the city... no surprise huh! :-D

Good Morning LL ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! I just love ~O) ), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP, kitteh barista pilot!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! In honor of Tuna Tuesday, once again Lola and Bug, aka Paw Prints Pizza, will make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! It's tradition!, and these pizza pies totally rock! and as a side benefit we have TUNA WATER too! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... OH! forget it... no tuna mochas. BLECH!

Happy Tuesday everyone. WOW, hard to believe that it is December already, and the holiday season is upon us. Only three weeks until Christmas.  and (!!) only three weeks until Nicholas's 4th Birthday. Such a wonderful and exciting time. I hope everyone is doing well. We have been COLD here in the PNW, even had snow on Saturday morning. It is SO FROZEN here, that the snowfall from Saturday still has not melted.... We got maybe 4", where areas nearby only had a trace. I was elated that I really didn't have to go anywhere and could just enjoy the snow for what is was: snow, pretty pretty snow. I made several treks out in it: Saturday morning, Sunday morning and also Sunday afternoon, camera in tow of course. :-D It was gorgeous out there!

Monday I had the boys. The other Grandparents were still in return home travel mode, so I covered their day for them. They are back on duty today, after a three week vacation in the Caribbean. Nicholas and I spent the morning in the pool. YAY! That has to be one of our favorite things to do: swimming! He still is such an energizer fishie. We spent so much time retrieving things from the bottom of the pool, diving in to get them, and just having fun with all the pool has to offer. William stayed with my DMIL while we were at the pool. He loves his time with his Grammie Connie. Nicholas wanted to spend some time there too after we swam, so we had an afternoon with Grammie Connie. She introduced the boys to pomegranates. and they loved them! She sent one home with them which I hear was devoured last nght. Who knew they liked pomegranates? not me... There was enough tine left in the afternoon for us to return to my house so they could play in the snow in my yard, That was fun! We have a small pond, very small, in the back yard that has iced over due to our days of below freezing temps. Nicholas was pretending to skate on it (supervised of course), William was trying to figure out the ice thing, and what that stuff called snow really was. Nicholas made a snow angel, a very COLD snow angel. He deiced at that point that he really was COLD, and inside for cocoa was the ticket. What a great day for us all.

Kitties are doing well, although they are really tired of that white stuff. Elsa goes out for 10 seconds, and back in she is. NO WAY is what I hear her say. Lola still sniffs, but she too knows that air is FROZEN COLD, and has no interest in escaping. Bug just looks, meows a few and then heads off to his blankets. I have yet to put up the tree, and so far, after the first day of decor install when Lola was messing with it all, she has since left it alone. YAY! Maybe the tree will fair better this year.     Maybe.... Normalcy in MusketeerVille!! cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

Have a great day everyone! I am off to do some Christmas shopping, and then send some time with my friend in Seattle. Coffee time! YIPPIE ~O) :-D :-D :-D

Whew- I don't know how you do it Michelle- you had the boys all week, everyday?? I had company for 3 1/2 days and I am still tired, you are a Super Hero! :-D I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mannie, but I can just imagine all thoughts go back to him during this time- what a wonderful tribute for him! And I am smiling reading about Lola helping and watching the Mickey Mouse show LOL! :-D Wonderful pictures as always and thanks for bringing cheer to us all! :-D

How cool on the snow. I wish we would get some. How cute Nicholas was pretending to ice skate. I wonder how long Lola will leave the decorations alone?

Hi Ruth ~O) :-D Yupp on the boys.... HAHA: A lot of caffeine is involved.  ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on Mannie. He was quite the character. and yes, I tend to think alot about him this time of year. he loved Christmas in his own way. We alwyas called him our Christmas kitty. :-D Lol and that MMouse Show - what a hoot. She did it again this Monday when I had the boys and it was on. She hears the music and in she comes.   THX so much on the photos. :-D

Hi Carla ~O) :-D Me too on the snow! we don't get that much here, so when it does it is kinda fun. As long as I don't have to get anywhere in it!  It was so cool that the boys got to play in it. Huge amount of fun. I thought so too on the skating with Nicholas, it is such a small pond, but he tried anyways. I wonder too on Lola.... maybe she is just waiting for "the tree"
