Our hearts go out to Deborah (@Deborah & Shasta) tonight. Shasta is flying free.

Hi Everyone,

Rusty and we are celebrating the 6th Annifursary of his arrival in his furever home. Here's a short account that I wrote several years ago and modified slightly:
Six years ago on this date Rusty arrived at his furever home. We drove to Kingston, Ont. to pick him up from his Aunties Linda (@Linda and Bear Man) and Ronnie (Luna). They had driven the penultimate lap in a DCIN relay transport from Phoebe's (@Phoebe_Tiggy_NortonGA) in Detroit. We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who loved and cared for Rusty in his journey to his furever home--a journey that began in November 2008, when he was rescued from the streets of Plymouth MA. Thanks to Claudia (@cjleo) for fostering him for 2+ years, to Phoebe and Charlie for loving him so much that they gave him the chance to move to a home where he would be the only kitty, to Venita and all of the volunteers at DCIN for arranging his transport, and to FDMB and all our friends in L&L Land for help, support, and friendship.
Rusty is a wonderful kitty and we are so thankful that he landed with us.

Going downstairs now to sit with our guy and make sure he eats. My cold is "progressing" (not a good day for me! but hopefully tomorrow will tell a different story).

This is always my favourite condo of the year! My Facebook memories feature came up today with photographs taken that day of Rusty in the car. What a great traveller he was! I have so many happy memories of that trip. I'm so fortunate to have met you, Edward, and Rusty. He is a special cat, with a very special family and extended circle of friends and admirers. Happy 6th Annifursary, Rusty!

Ella, I also love to read again, the story of how Rusty came to his forever home. You and Edward have been such wonderful bean parents to him.
What a lucky day for Rusty. What a wonderful journey he had, along the way to you.
I love that photo of him.:)
I hope your nasty cold runs it's course quickly.:bighug:
