Hi Lantus Land, Rusty here. Today is my First Anniversary in my home. Please come to my party!
One year ago I traveled to the Adirondack Mountains of New York State and began my new life with my Beans, Ella and Edward. It has been a fine year and I am very happy here. I was lucky that so many beans helped me to find my 'Furever' home by providing me with way-stations and lots of loving care during my journey. I would like to thank them here.
My journey began in the fall of 2008. I was lost/abandoned in Plymouth MA. The Nemasket Orphaned Animal Haven (NOAH) found me on the street, took me to their shelter, provided me with medical care, and put me up for adoption. During this time I was found to be diabetic. DCIN learned about me and Venita arranged for me to join Claudia's (cjleo) foster family. I lived happily with Claudia and the crew for a year and a half and then I was adopted by Phoebe (Phoebe-Tiggy-NortonGA) & Charlie and moved to Michigan in March 2010. DCIN transported me and two other kitties to our new homes. (We were known as the "3 Tenors".) I loved my new beans, but their other kitties were afraid of me. I guess I was too big and rough. We worked with Dawn, an animal communicator, and we all decided that it would be best if I were rehomed. Once again, DCIN stepped in and I was very lucky that Ella and Edward wanted to adopt me. (Stu had Gone Ahead and I guess they missed having a diabetic kitty.)
On Thanksgiving weekend, 2010, I was again in a DCIN-arranged transport from Michigan, through Canada, and into NY. Venita and Hope of DCIN coordinated the effort. Phoebe drove the first lap; we said our goodbyes (not easy for either of us), and Leanne and Dwayne drove me to Toronto. There Linda (Bear Man) met me and took me to her home to spend the night. I met my friend Ted (now GA), Miss Emily (now GA), and my friend Pinkerton. The next day Linda and Ronnie (Luna) drove me to Kingston, Ontario, where my new mamabean and papabean met me and drove me home.
I am so thankful to all of the caring beans who helped me. I love my new life in the Adirondacks. I can go out in my backyard with my beans and watch the wildlife (I like to chase the squirrels, but I am not permitted to get too close to them!). In the warmer months we go to Camp Stu often and I can check out the mouse situation. Occasionally we go to NY City and I have to ride in the car for a long time, but once I get there all my FDMB pals come to visit me.
Finally I want to say a big thank you to FDMB. Thank you, dear aunties and unclebeans, for giving so generously of your time and expertise—for always being there for my beans when they have questions and need help. Thank you, all my kitty friends, for checking in with me every day and for sharing so many adventures. I love you all. Let's PARTY!!
