I am so bummed by this. I gave Morgaine a partial fur shot. She pulled away as I was giving her insulin and I felt the insulin all over her fur. Not sure if any of it got into her. I was so hoping she might get some lower numbers today. I know it happens but I am sorry it happened today. She has been doing some heavy duty peeing and drinking as numbers hover near 200 or above. Guess we shall see what happens and I can give her a break from all the ear pokes.

Hope everyone is having a good day and my best wishes go out to all who need them.

Re: 11/28 Morgaine AMPS 193 and gave partial fur shot

I'm sorry, Rosalie! There is never a good time for a fur shot. It's just one among many. Morgaine will recover quickly.

 I hope she got some of the juice. At least her ears are happy.
Heh! Her ears are not so happy since I did a +3 on her but I am happy since it was 133. Perhaps the shed is draining because I really doubt she got much, if any, insulin. I felt it hit my finger and go on her fur.

This is a pretty good cycle for a fur shot!!!! Hope she gets back on track tonight.

Hope the new box works when it comes!

Re: 11/28 Morgaine AMPS 193,+3 133

Her PMPS was 134 so yeah, really good and I am absolutely sure she did not get her full dose. We shall see where things go and if her shed is going to demand its payback. Maybe prayers are being heard. I was so upset with myself about not giving her her full dose of insulin. I can correct my own errors but we can't correct it when we have no idea how much was missed with our fur kids. So, for now we are very grateful for Morgaine's blood sugars today and she has had her full PM dose and ate her meal with great joy, as always!

One of my big concerns is that Morgaine is showing a higher than normal level of microalbuminurea in her urine. I was reading that about 70% of FD cats have this issue but do not recall seeing this before on any of her other labs. It indicates that her glucose levels are too high; she is spilling glucose as we know and she is spilling albumin, none of which is good for her kidneys. i want to get this disease regulated so she can heal. She has been jumping up on her condo more than she had been and actually took a bath on it earlier. I hadn't seen her do that in a long time. But, with her numbers reaching her renal threshold on and off, she is spilling glucose and peeing more than normal. My goal is to keep her under 150 so her kidneys won't be effected any more than they already have been. A few days ago, when she was green for a full cycle, everything had setled down and she was normal, with no PD/PU and a negative on the urine glucose strip.

We will get there. Nite , nite to anyone who is still up.
