i was reading some and it seems like a few of us are dealing with surprisingly lower numbers. These kitties are in sync πŸ˜†
Monster's 84 is her +11 from PM cycle. I fed, she ate and will be getting her AMPS in about 30 mins. I'm not sure I feel comfortable shooting her in the 80's. It's back to work today so I may need to shave a little off her dose and leave MC/HC for her. I really really need to try the Libre. @Staci & Ivy I have few questions whenever you have time

109 is a great, safe place to give her the full dose. Just remember, that 89 is actually a good number! It's what a cat without insulin problems should be in. But for the immediate future, she'll need a little help.
Nico is driving me a little loopy today. He's been in hypo numbers the last 3 tests. Good times! I'm getting ready to bring out the big guns and give him a little of my ibd girl's Rabbit kibble.πŸ˜…
Hope Monster does great today! But from the looks, she's doing just fine.πŸ’•

I know, it's a great number, possibly meaning her pancreas is trying to work. I'm still a little nervous shooting so low when she'll be alone for 9 hours. I don't want to come home to.... well, I don't even want to imagine it. I love her lower "regular" numbers, she's doing great. I just need her to have a flat cycle with no skinny dipping.

Sorry Nico dipped so low. πŸ˜” it's good that you can be with him and pull him back up. I hope he doesn't get on his pogo stick later though. Safe surfing Nico, πŸ„β€β™€οΈπŸ˜»

What do you mean skinny dip?
I just liked at her chart and it looks like a normal Lantus curve to me. But then again I'm no pro but far. But I want Nico's numbers to look like Monsters!πŸ˜…
Nico's almost risen to good numbers here. Thank goodness. 67 with 75 being lowest you want on my Pet meter. I decided not to give him more carb food, as I've already given it to him 3x now. We'll see how he goes in ANOTHER half hour. I know he's got to hate all the ear piercings I'm giving him today.:(
And I get the worry with all the new numbers, but I do think she's doing spectacular. And as overwhelming as it is, I think you've got this. Just don't end up being like me. I'm so over worried about my cats with an their medical problems, I've only left the house for more than 4hrs at a time, once in the last 9yrs. Don't be like me.🀣

Skinny dip, meaning dipping down into low, almost too low numbers

I.am very blessed that diabetes is the only major medical problem I'm dealing with.

Indeed. Last year I lost 4 seniors. It was mere months in between. My Midnight from bone marrow cancer (he also suffered from Severe ibd & hyperthyroidism), then Hayate whom had been battling kidney failure a year before, then have a miraculous turn around and be cleared off all kidney failure) to find him just passed away one morning. Vet said probable blood clot. Then my most beautiful Shade. She had suffered from pretty bad ibd, finally got it under control but not in time before it led to small cell lymphoma gi. We treated it and she lived almost 4 great years on chemo once weekly with that. Then got HT, but it quickly regulated. Then skin cancer, which was the end for my poor girl. Then a couple months later was Tiger whom we knew had a heart murmur, but had never been an issue. One night he just started coughing weird, then breathing problems. Nothing worked at home from steam shower treatment to asthma inhaler to a diuretic. We brought him to an ER over an hour away and he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and the prognosis was so dire, we had to let him go. That was all in 7 months time. To say I'm fur-poor from the last year is an understatement. I didn't even get half a year before having Nico diagnostic with asthma and diabetes, and then Angel with scl gi the following week. Caregiver fatigue is definitely a real thing. But I feel so blessed because I found this place. It's taken a lot of the stress and even burden off my shoulders. With not doing it alone and having all this amazing back up to help me make the right choices for my baby boy. πŸ₯°

Ok, so the +2, out the door test is higher, 151, so I think she'll do good. I'll be checking in on here on my breaks.

Hope everyone has a good day and safe surfing kitties!

I'm so sorry to read this and for all your heartbreak in such a short time.
May all your furry angels rest easy now β™₯️ πŸ™ πŸ˜‡

Hey there Regan! I don't want to dissuade you or freak you out. But I saw Wendy post this on the main health page. So if you're looking into these, just make sure you don't get one like this.

Thanks. I saw the recall of them. They should have all the defective ones pulled but I will definitely check.

You're talking about the Freestyle Libre, right? It's easy to look up the serial number on the site in Wendy's post, and if you do wind up buying a defective one (hopefully they've been pulled), the company will send a free replacement as long as you don't tell them you want it for a cat.

Wow! 170! She hasn't been above 150 in about 5 days. I did give her MC this morning just incase but that's worn off by now. She better not be taking it to the extreme and start bouncing high then low again. She's still surprising me and proving to me that she's in charge! πŸ˜†
