Her pre-shot number was low at 189 an hour before she was due to get insulin. And that is after coaxing her to eat as much 9% carb food as I could get into her. I tested her just before her shot and she was at 276. She is hit and miss with eating today. She laid by the water bowl last night. I called the vet today and the vet won't prescribe anything as she has not officially see her; only the other vet has. The only other option was to drop her off and them keep her for the day and try to fit her in. That will stress her out even more. I just wanted a pain shot but of course that isn't good enough--they have to assess her and look her over. And I know exactly what it is. We don't need all that :( They won't even give a new tube of Mirataz. I am monitoring her and made an appointment on Monday.

I’m sorry they are being like this. It seems unreasonable that if one doctor within the practice saw Minky, they have the office units on your visits and treatments. And given the other vet is out of the office and you need meds which she’s had before (mirataz) why can’t they dispense to you if needed!

Keep trying to add some water to her food as Wendy suggested to keep flushing her system.

In fairness, they have not prescribed Mirataz; it was from 2.25 years ago when we took her to emergency the first time. It is frustrating though if one vet saw her, they could share that info though. I set up an appointment to see this other vet on Monday so she will have technically been seen by both 🙄 She just ate well for me so I am praying she will not need more intervention.
