Hi
It started this morning....his amps was 64, but he was refusing to eat...
also all last night he went upstairs and did not eat
today I came home and he did not eat today and he is not looking well
when I went to the basement, it appears there is a dead half eaten mouse down there.
Not sure if it was him, but I am wondering if anyone knows if a cat can get sick from eating a mouse
Could it have been diseased??
Looking for an answer tonight
he was at the vet 3 days ago and he was fine.....
any input would be greatly appreciated
Denise

Hi Denise,

I would get him to a Vet ASAP, he needs to be eating. Not eating can bring lower bg's but if someone put out some Decon mouse killer (an anticoagulant) and the mouse ate it and Shakes ate the mouse he may need Vitamin K therapy to coagulate his blood again.

I wouldn't take any chances. Sorry, I'm not trying to scare you but that happened to our dog.

Robin

Thank you Robin
I just talked to the vet...
Shakes ate some tuna just a little while ago
the vet daid to see if he throws that up, if so cfall back, if not feed some more
in anther hour...and so on
I will bring to vet tomorrow unless he needs to tonight
Thank you for your input Robin

and save the uneaten mouse parts - as the vet may be able to test it to see if it consumed poison or not. put the mouse in a ziploc and put in fridge to "keep it on ice" so to speak.

How is Shakespeare today? I am wondering that maybe he is constipated? I know that when Spot starts to "back up", he is lethargic and does not want to eat. Or maybe just a little bug....There are times when Spot does not feel well, lasts for about a day. He just lays around, meatloafing, and does not want to eat. Then all of a sudden, he's ready to roll and is looking for his meal.

I hope whatever it is, it is a quick fix and Shakes recovers quickly!!
