Good stormy morning, everyone!

The wind is howling, it is sleeting at the moment, and we are snug in our little studio apt. Rusty is on his bed, which is on the coffee table, Edward is snoozing on the floor, and I am sitting at the table. Rusty had a good night--it was a short night because we didn't get home from the opera until 12:30, in time for a +6 and a hungry cat. Rusty's bg is still up there (it got down to 145 at +6 last night, however). I don't expect it to go much lower until we get home, especially since we will be trying out the 18-hour shot schedule on Thanksgiving evening.

The opera (Die Frau ohne Schatten) was magnificent. One of the best evenings in the opera ever!

Wishing everyone a good day and safe travels for those traveling. Sending healing vines to all who need them,

Ella & Rusty

Yo Kitties, let's hang out in my building's party room until the rain and sleet stop sometime this afternoon. We can do some cooking there for Monet's otj party and have a little pre-party. Then, this evening we can go over to watch the balloons being inflated for the big parade tomorrow. I hope there will be a cat balloon--maybe Felix the Cat. Then we can all head out to Monet's otj party.

Hi Ella. It sounds like everyone in Rustyville are relaxing and having a good morning. Hope Rusty can get his numbers down a little bit for you.

It's funny how "Die Frau ohne Schatten" was too well like when it premiered, I believe in 1918 or 1919, but now is considered one of the best Operas. Glad you enjoyed it.

Have a great day Ella.

We are off to see the 1913 Armory show retrospective at the NY Historical society. Bbl. Rusty is down a littie.

Ps Rusty enjoys listening to music when we are out. He likes opera.

Hi again,
We're back from the Armory show and Rusty is blue!
The show was fascinating and the catalogue is first rate (and huge, and well researched).
The NY Historical Society is right around the corner from where the balloons are inflated for the Macy Day parade and the streets were teaming with families with young children. It was a madhouse, but a happy one. Evidently the balloons are going to fly tomorrow, but perhaps closer to the ground. I think I spotted our gang of LL kitties near Felix the Cat.

Nice sliding there Rusty, Zener is proud!

So glad to read there will be balloons. I'm sure the kitties will have all sorts of tall tails (opps, tales) about Felix!

We had a cat who loved opera, especially sopranos - Leontyne Price was his very favorite. A friend of mine was a masters student in Opera and her side business was cleaning houses. She could clean and sing, good practice for having to sing while moving on stage. She told me my cat followed her from room to room and would lie on his back purring when she was singing. I had no idea he was such a fan of opera. So, I started listening to opera at other times too. If the women were singing, he was mesmerized.

Stayin' blue!!

Anne: our Alice was a great fan of German opera (especially Wagner and Strauss). When we played Wagner or Strauss she would come from wherever she was in the house to sit in front of the speakers. Once, after a Met broadcast of Mozart's Marriage of Figaro she sat in her chair and "sang"--pitch perfect--the entire overture, but without the rhythms, just the notes. It was uncanny! Rusty hasn't reached this stage of development! (but we always leave the radio on for him so he can hear classical music while we are out).

Have a great Thanksgiving!

I love the story of how Alice sang.
That is amazing.
I should try playing some opera music and see if mine like it too!
