Good luck! If you could get a +2 test. This can give you some idea of what the cycle may hold for the evening.

I'm off tomorrow and even if not, wouldn't be the first time I've stayed up all night to monitor. hopefully its uneventful.

In the past his +2 was slightly higher than his preshot. But I always get a reading right before I turn in for the night as well, that's usually +4.5-5
 
A couple of housekeeping notes... Can you put Pumpkin's name in your subject line? Also, what is your name?

Typically, Lantus onset is at around +2 or +3. If the numbers are lower at onset than at your pre=shot test, it can be a signal that it's a cycle where you could be up testing. I often found it helpful to get the early test so I had a bit of a warning system and could steer numbers with food if need be earlier rather than later in the process.

Nice job! you don't have to change your user name to show your name, instead you could edit your signature to show it. to do that you just go to your profile name at the top right of this page and choose signature, then you could write a little about yourself and Pumpkin. Some people write it like: 'Amber, mom to Pumpkin | Diagnosis date | Insulin type | Food Type | Dosing Method' or something along those lines :)
