1st day of trial, Milo's +3 is 47...isn't that low for no insulin?? should I give gravy??

I THINK he won't go hypo without insulin, ShuShu's (civvie) normal count runs at 50, he's not diabetic. The only thing I wonder about is what's left in reserve from the Lantus. Is that a concern with starting OJT? Oh boy! We're gonna learn ANOTHER new thing today!!!

Your link to yesterday's condo isn't clickable, and your spreadsheet is not filled out, so I can't tell if you shot insulin last night?
Just because this is new to you, and he is 47, I'd go ahead and test again in 20 minutes.

Looks like your last shot was yesterday morning. Might be the shed emptying a bit. A little lc and retest just to be sure. Milo might one of those kitties who runs on the low side off the juice. Nice. Curry runs a little higher, but gave me a 49 once 3 hours after her first meal....she was hungry and I gave her a little lc.

You guys are doing great.

Milo's last dose of insulin was 0.1u 24 hours ago, correct? If so, no worries! He won't hypo. For some cats that is their normal range. Lucy even gave me a test in the 30s not long ago.

And now we know that Milo's pancreas can pull blue numbers down by itself. :mrgreen:

I reset yesterdays post on my new post, and added in the NS on my spreadsheet.. he started the trial last night so he did not get a shot, I just feed him a small meal after I got the 47 reading, he was due for his next feeding.. will test again in 20, I was happy to see the lower number because I knew it ment his pancreas was working.. but was not expecting to see somthing in the 40's but feel better knowing its ok!!

Hi guys - I concur with all the rest. Milo is doing well - you probably have a little shed draining here, and I suspect that Milo may just run low normally. Well done!

Milo's +3.50 is 60 so he is good.. I just didnt know the numbers could run that low naturally so I panicked!
