I'm so tired I already lost one post. Don't ask me how I did that...

Blue is 356 AMPS and I'll test at +1 and +2 and then check every half hour for the drop.
It looks like that's been the trend the last several days.

I had Canadians helping me last night and I appreciated them being here. Then Elise appeared.
This site is so wonderful and very supportive. :)

Mogs, how is Noodle bug? Eating yet?
Better yesterday and the day before. Today, she's only eaten about 4 kibbles. I usually manage to get her to eat at least some little bit by putting the bowl up to her and encouraging her but today any time I try to coax her to eat she makes to run away from the food in the bowl.

Right now I'm panicking and close to tears.

He's still in the sky. 341 +7 and I did get a much needed nap.

Mogs, I hate that for you. Poor Noodle. Are are her numbers still good? Do you have her on a special diet?
I guess force feeding would probably not be an option. Baby food? People food, or is she too limited?
Wish she would help you out. Come on Noodle!!! :cat:

She's IRIS stage III so needs to be on a therapeutic renal support diet (low phosphorus, moderate protein) so dietary choices are very restricted. Even putting her back on a regular food and using a phosphorus binder isn't a straightforward proposition because the increased protein content would lead to a higher load of toxic products of metabolism in the blood for the kidneys to deal with and that would likely make her feel bad.

Going to try crushing up some Temptations and toss the CKD kibble in the crumbs to see if that might encourage her to eat something for me...

Thank you both. :bighug:

Finally got her to eat a bit with the Temptations sprinkled over it. Tried a second time just now and she wouldn't touch any more. :(

Given that she's likely to eat frell all between here and the morning I've given her a famotidine to help with excess stomach acid. Maybe it might make her a wee bit more inclined to eat something for me in the morning. (I can hope...)

I feel like a wrung-out dishrag. Eating issues are so hard... :(

I see you had a bounce day. I hope you got to nap. I also hope Blue won’t clear it tonight. You need a break. :bighug:

Sorry Noodle isn’t eating Mogs. :bighug:

Hopefully Noodle will eat in the morning and you can stop worrying. (((Mogs)))

Yes, he was high all day so I finally stopped testing to save his ears. I did sleep a couple of hours and it was needed.
He's at 328 PMPS so we'll see what happens.

Thank you both. :bighug:

:(( i hope she eats something for you soon!

Yes,wet foods can be put in timed feeders. They have ice packs for them. Last night for example, you could have set one to for +4; 5, 6.

How do you know what to feed and when? Wet food can be in a timed feeder?
You first work out a feed size and schedule that generally keeps the kitty in safe numbers (with live BG monitoring through the night) and then you measure out the right foods/amounts and program the feeder to dispense them as required. Use the +2 test (maybe a bit later) to gauge whether closer monitoring might be needed during the night cycle, and if not - provided kitty is eating OK - load up the feeder and hit the hay. Easier with fewer kitties, mind. :)

I'll have to think that one through. I'm afraid I'm to tired to think straight. In fact, I forgot to test on time and he's down to 244 +2.5 :( I can't believe I forgot to test him. I just gave him some 12% FF.

I think Lúnasa might have an upper respiratory infection. She sneezed yesterday evening. I reckoned that it was just dust or summat that had irritated her nose and didn't think any more of it. This morning her eyes were a little weepy. I just tried feeding her and again. She was really interested when she saw me coming with the bowl but as soon as I offered it up to her she rejected the kibble again. I wondered whether she didn't want to eat it because she can't smell it. I warmed it for a few seconds to try to release the aroma and bingo! she ate a little straight away. Vetty bean next week if it doesn't clear over the weekend. I really don't want to have to put her back on antibiotics again. :(

When Max had a URI I gave him Zyrtec. My vet had me give 1/3 a regular pill. The cyproheptadine is the same type of drug I think. If no infection from it like with Max my vet did not give an antibiotic. I hope it’s just a cold and goes away fast. :bighug:

Thank you very much for the tip, Elise. :bighug:

Just managed to get her to eat a bit. Coated warmed CKD kibbles with some warmed sauce from a Sheba pouch. She mullered it so her appetite is OK. She bit my legs just now when I was trying to get to the bathroom and she only usually does that when she's hungry. Mammy is NOT lunch, Lúnasa!!! :arghh:

Patty, in looking at your ss from the last few nights I think once Blue hits blue after nadir we should try no food and test for two hours. If he still hasn’t dropped a tiny teaspoon of lc and you go to sleep. It might prevent the pinks in the morning, well that and if the big drops can be caught. The drops are the hard part.
