She’s doing so well but I’m still battling runny poops— soft serve/cow patty, not liquid. I got S boulardii yesterday… I started that slowly but maybe I need to go with a large dose all at once? I slowed the amount of rabbit food (stopped it today entirely) as that is what I suspect is causing the digestion issues. No vomiting, good energy, drinking. I’ll take any recommendations! Likely calling the vet tomorrow.

Hi Ali, Tilda is doing amazing, sorry about the runny poop.
Going to tag Sienne and Wendy for you, they are very knowledgeable about runny poops
@Sienne and Gabby (GA)
@Wendy&Neko

Also looking at her SS if Tilda stays all green on 11-27 I'm pretty sure your new dose will be
0.5 units on 11-28 , All green for 7 days
Is this correct Sienne and Wendy?

Thank you!! I can’t believe that I forget that this happens— it was a hairball! She gets diarrhea always when she has one but this one was enormous. Why do I forget every time! Looking into egg yolk powder now…

Here's the dosing for S. Boulardii:
https://www.foodfurlife.com/my-cat-has-diarrhea---what-do-i-do.html

"Traditional dosing for therapeutic treatment of diarrheain adult cats as provided by U.C. Davis is one-half of a 250mg capsule (5 billion CFU) given twice daily. This is usually sufficient for loose stools of normal frequency. For the “emergency stop diarrhea” approach, we find more frequent dosing of smaller amounts of the probiotic, providing a higher total CFU the first day or two, resolves diarrhea much more quickly."

Is this the new 7% food? Did stopping it completely today make a difference to the diarrhea?

Thanks for this info! I’m glad I have it in hand now. She is a new cat after passing a giant hairball. I’m sure it took up most of the room in her stomach. Her poops are nearly perfect this morning and I bet they’ll be better tonight. I was worried it was the new 7% rabbit but that had been making her poop better! Not worse over the last week+.
