AMPS=123, +2=121

So far he is eating ok today. A small pudding poo overnight in the LB. Feeding just Fowl Ball today as it seems that is easier on his tummy.
 
Please eat Gizmo! And come back into a bit shallower waters. Worry and stress is no good for us beans.

I'm assuming you tried the crumbled pure bite treats. That is actually what got my Gizmo eating for my mom while we were away. :bighug:

I have tried everything. I just put a bit of the seafood food that I use to give Canna with in his regular food and got him to eat about 1/2 of his +2.5. The Mirtz didn't go down well so now he is foaming and drooling.
 
How is he with assist/syringe feeding? Often I could get Neko jump started with a little food in her tummy. Do you have any all meat babyfood?

I am hoping the Mirtz will kick in. Test in 15 min and then I will see if I can get him to eat some more on his own. Nadir should be in 1-1 1/2 hours so if I can get him through that tonight. I think i have to get him in to the vet tomorrow.

It is so strange he only refuses to eat in the pm.

Added the MC gravy into his regular food (about 2 tablespoons). He has eaten about 3/4 and I added a bit more gravy and it looks like he will finish it. Retest in an hour.

Nope. Won't eat any more right now.
 
The latest thing I use to get Bronx to eat some food he won't touch is sprinkling some Primal freeze dried (cats or dogs) on top of his wet. It works even better than the Fortiflora "kitty crack".
 
:( Come on, Gizmo, eat some food. I can relate to the wearing what you try to give struggle, I'm sorry. I hope he finds something interesting to eat and is feeling better soon. :bighug:

I have tried his FD duck liver. I have tried Fortiflora. MC has fish (Chick Magnet) which got him to eat a bit.
 
Yeah, maybe keeping some cans of fish for nights like tonite are worth it. The Soulistic stuff is readily avail at Petco, Bronx's 2 favs are Upstream Dream & Double Happiness. As Bobbie said...Sometimes you have to pick your battles.

Let's assume this is a pancreatitis flare. Anything more I should/could be doing at home? What would the vet be able to give? She will more than likely give fluids but any other meds?

Any one know how to read a prescription? When I was at the vets the last time I got a new rx for Mirtz and I think it now says you can give every 12 hours but I am not sure. If some one can I will post a pic shortly.

I think this says 1/4 - 1/2 orally as needed every 12 hours. When was last dose? Was it 1/2 or 1/4?

When filled, they should have given dosage instructions.

Sure hope this works so he will eat for you!

Thanks. It was the symbol after the PO that I wasn't sure of. It looks like a subset "8"

I have him 1/2 about 2 hours ago but my current rx bottle says "every 3 days"

Just read this all the way through. I understand where you are, and it's a terrible place to be. I've fought tears, too, when nothing seems to work.

But I see that you are doing everything possible right now for Gizmo, and you are holding him fairly steady. This is a tough battle and you are an accomplished warrior. Hugs and appetite vines are on the way to you both.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
The most recent research on mirtz says it only lasts 9 hours in cats (pill form). So twice a day makes sense. Or get the transdermal kind that lasts a little longer and doesn't give the meowzipane kitty.

I dunno if what you are giving for pain is enough. Do you have any buprenorphine?

I do not have bup. I have torborgisic(?). The pain meds decrease his appy even more.

+6.5=80 Still won't eat any more. Going to try and get some sleep. I have no idea what to do with his dose in the AM.
