Previous Condo. I also noticed I screwed up the time on it somehow. I have no idea what I was doing yesterday, but obviously it wasn't telling time correctly. I'll just blame it on time dilation.

I left his booklet at home again. :? I do know that his morning AMPS was over 300 (I wanna say it was 340-something). Gave him another 1u, but I think I might up his dose to either a fat 1u or 1.25u. His nadir was over 200 again last night. I've been having a really crappy morning already and this is getting so frustrating that it seems like the insulin isn't even working most of the time! I'm scared I'm doing irreversible damage to the poor little guy by having his numbers so continuously high. UGH! I just want to see some results of all the effort I've been putting into this kitten for the last month and a half and for all the constant hell I've been getting from friends and family members by allowing "just a cat" to consume so much of my time and still not getting any noticeable results to show for it. It's enough to make me want to take Michelangelo and move into some remote cave somewhere and be left alone.

Re: 11/26 Michelangelo AMPS +300

Good morning! You are doing great - the insulin looks like its working to me for two reasons.

1. he put weight on! You are seeing results!

2. Saturday night and Sunday we saw him drop into nice blues and greens and back up again as it wore off - just like its supposed to! More results! Then he bounced again last night and stayed yellow and pink for a while.

This bouncing is all normal. Lets see how he goes today and when the bounce clears. Not sure about raising his dose quite yet since you are getting lows of around 70..you might drop him too low if you increase but see what the others say.

Dont worry.. stay the course. Its all looking good so far!

You know what they ALWAYS tell me? Put on your patience pants, girl! Hang in there - this is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't be afraid to go up in order to go down if you need to. I hate when that happens, personally, but it's part of the dance (someone more experienced than me should make that call, btw). It might take awhile for Michelangelo to smooth out and stop bouncing, too. Stick to it - you're doing great!

You are doing a great job! :thumbup :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Sat night and Sun morning had green nadirs, if last night was higher it IS common for cats to bounce. Plus you have the added complication of a rapidly growing kitten, I don't remember another cat here so young , so there are some uncharted waters here too.

Bounces often take 6 cycles to clear and even longer for some cats. Hang in there w/ this dose a little longer.

Thanks for all the encouragement! You guys don't understand how much it's appreciated when it seems I'm just getting ridiculed and criticized from all other sides to have one place where I know that there is a support base for what I'm going through because everyone here has already gone through it or are going through it as well. I just sometimes wish I had some IRL support, too. :?

It seems like all he does is bounce! He'll have a nice day like yesterday and then just flat-lines at night (or vis versa). I'm going stick with everyone's advice and keep him on the 1u a little longer because even though we seem to be at a bit of a stalemate, this is the first time we're seeing consistent blues and greens without him dropping too low. I'm working from home again tomorrow, so I'll be able to monitor him more closely during the day. I really hope to see some blues and greens again. The more often, the better!

Well, we probably do know how much the support is appreciated because we've all gotten it before too! :-D I'm not a dosing expert but you don't want to increase with the nadirs that you've gotten lately. Bouncing can result from lower numbers or rapid drops. We started testing Zener at +1 and +2 to see if he was dropping after the shot and then giving carbs when we saw a steep drop. That seemed to help with the bouncing but maybe it would have diminished anyway. At least we felt like we were doing something.
