I hope everyone had a joyous, fun filled holiday: good times with family and friends! :-D

What an interesting day yesterday! Mannie surfed yellows through the AM cycle. PMPS was a 251, and dummie bean thought - ok, good to go, no need to take Mannie to my DD, he'll surf there with 10% on board until we get home, auto feeder was set for the +1,2,3..... oh sure! Came home to a 42. :shock: I believe that he had been there for a while, as he was ravenous, hollering at the door when I walked in, running around the kitchen, chomping at the spoon before I could even get the food out of the can... :shock: He did come up rather quickly... but wow. dummie bean, and next time he travels! so - considering the fast rise, not too surprised to see the 392 this AM - I just hope he can clear it quickly.

We are back to normalcy in Mannieland this morning. YAY! Breffis #1, and #2 gobbled up - hungry boy! Auto feeder ignored, again. :YMSIGH: makes me wonder if he got his +1, 2, 3 last night, or if the civvies ate it... Nanners are secure, he is happy, preening done several times over. Must have been one great breffis. :-D He is anxious to go out. Later Mannie when it is light out. Our snows have vanished, temps have risen, rains are back.

It appears that out kitties had their own joyous thanksgiving. :-D Telltale remnants in Mannie's stash this morning - one turkey carcass, a bowl with what looks like mouse souffle :? , some pie crust remnants, and a bowl of tater's and gravy with Moonie's name on it. WOW - looks like they had a great time.

Happy Furday! And hears to a great Black Furday out there for all you shoppers taking on the crowds. :-D :-D

I hear you on the feeder....Curry just isn't getting it. Sigh.

Hope Mannie clears that bounce and comes down to play w/the other kitties today.

Mannie sure is a great cook.

It won't be long until Rusty is "home".

I just read that Rusty is delayed a day due to bad weather. I am glad that they are being careful -

That +6 must have freaked you out when you got home. :o Did Mannie eat the 10% food in his feeder last night? I'm glad you got home when you did, too. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgivng! The only Black Friday shopping I did was at Petsmart, but I was nice enough not to buy all the FF. :lol: Enjoy your Furday, Michelle.

I don't want you miss out on that Petsmart thing - it is today only. But my store had big pallets of it at the back of the store. Only one other person was buying cat food when I was there, everyone else was shopping those giant dog beds.

Gosh, it just doesn't pay to second-guess that BananieMannie, figures he would throw you a curve ball.

He must have spent so much time in the kitchen that he didn't get to eat himself. :-D I know how that is. Lots of times by the time I get it on the table, I've lost interest in eating any of it.

Quick bounce, though, and I bet he's got more planned for you later today. Mike told me about what happened (Mr. "gotta check the board first thing") and I said..."he must not have used his feeder" and he said "it was empty but he was hungry so probably not". So what kind of sad commentary about our life is it that we discuss Mannie first thing? :lol: :lol: Not that Mannie isn't important!!! Hope you have a super day.

Wow on coming home to that 42. :shock: I'm guessing the civvies weren't all that hungry last night though. :razz: coming down nicely this morning and that's what's important. I hope you had a nice dinner at DD house.

We're pretty well stocked on food and don't use that much FF anyway any more. Got to check the ad to see if there is anything else. Shopping is not appealing though. I'd much rather stay here and catch up or snooze w/ a kitty on my lap.

Hi Marjorie! oh that is too funny! Mannie was the topic on morning conversation... funny too that I had to call the kids this AM and fill them in on " all the best laid plans of mice and men...." and still he hit 42, and it sure looks like he'd been there for a bit. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile I just think he took his sweet time to head off to the feeder (this is the norm these days) and by the time he did, Elsa had beaten him to it... Well, he's cleared the bounce already,and I've recovered from last night - short of the serious lack of sleep.... and we await today, cuz yes: he's on the move this morning....

Hi Ann! It is the same thing here with the FF - it is what I use when I need a higher carb, or just want to feed a little variety. Mannie just loves their fish and shrimp, a 0% carb one. other than that, not too much... but i did go, stocked up on what i do use. nice price! and yes on the civvies last night - they sure weren't on my case like Mannie was. :lol: :lol: golly gee, not too much doubt that Mannie failed auto feeder last night, and the civvies were elated with that primo stuff that was in there. :lol: :lol:

and so YES on the no shopping! I avoid it like the plague...

A nice Thanksgiving surprise that Mannie came up with! Now maybe he'll get serious about "Automat 101". Glad to hear that you and your family had a good holiday, blissfully ignorant of what was going on at home with the kitties.

Rusty won't be arriving until Sunday. The weather wasn't cooperating and we all decided to put everything back a day. The stretch through Canada would have been OK, but in the parts of NY State I have to drive through (east of Lake Ontario) there is a "Lake-Effect" snow alert (today through Saturday) for white-out conditions, heavy bands of lake-effect snow, and accumulations of 6 -12 inches. Sunday is supposed to be OK. Fortunately the switch of days works out for all concerned.

Stay tuned!! Glad to see that Mannie is coming down to blue.

Ella & Ed are really happily awaiting their new boy--hope he gets there soon. Where exactly is Rusty now??

Hi Kim - sorry - I missed your post earlier... I did do petsmart - nice price! Hi Ella! WOW on the weather conditions! Best to wait for safer travel. that was a new term for me - interesting! Drifts and blowing snow? maybe similar to what we get here off the sound when we have snow and high winds. the end results are bands and drifts of snow with the most incredible patterns. well I am glad you waited one day. and yes (!!) on Mannie and turkey day. I just about came unglued when i checked him and got a 42. it was more than apparent that he had been that low for a bit. ravenous is an understatement! I sure hope you are right on AUTOMAT 101, though he did fail miserably this morning. :YMSIGH: back to class......

Tess - YAY if you want to come and hang out - the roadster isn't too bad... We have a few turkey legs left, some mouse souffle and a few pies too. YUM on the pies... it sure was fun to travel and have a feast at the same time. Rusty is still at home with Phoebe. The whole transport was delayed by one day, so Rusty will be claiming his temporary Canadian citizenship on Saturday at noon! I have a bed prepared for him in the guest kitty bedroom, and Teddy is getting it warmed up right now.

oh ok on the transport - that would make sense. duh :-D How fun that Teddy is warming up the bed in the guest kitty bedroom. :-D Somehow I can picture that.

Curious: how difficult is it to transport a kitty across the border?

Hi Michelle,
We'll let you know about transport across the border when we have done it! Rusty has his International Health Certificate, documenting that he has all the required vaccinations. We also have the DCIN Adoption Contract that we can show if we need to. Keep your fingers crossed that it will be an uneventful trip, both at the border and with the weather (the Lake Effect warning is now up to 8 - 14 inches of snow, but the area that will be most impacted is further south. Our route is only supposed to get 6 inches.)
Rusty leaves the Detroit area tomorrow morning with Phoebe, will be transferred in London, Ontario to Leanne, and will spend the night with Linda in the Toronto area. Then, on Sunday, Linda and Ronnie will bring him to Kingston, Ontario, where Edward and I will meet them at noon. Then it's on to cross the border at Prescott - Ogdensburg and then home through Canton, Potsdam, St. Regis Falls, Paul Smiths, and finally to Saranac Lake.
He will be a well traveled kitty!

So, keep fingers and paws crossed for a good trip for all of us!

280 @ PMPS. darn up more than I had hoped... I am beginning to wonder about this dose. With the exception of last night Mannie has been mostly yellow - very few blues or greens. I guess we will wait this one out for a few more cycles before going back to the 3.0u dose.

Hi Ella! I so hope is is a good safe uneventful transport: PAWS CROSSED!. I will be thinking about you guys. My gracious - he will be an international traveler. There ought to be a kitty passport that could be stamped with each city he went through. :-D I just hope it all goes well. I can't imagine why it wouldn't? The weather is another matter and I hope it is in your favor, though living where you do I bet that you are seasoned bad weather driver. What an exciting time!

Hey MissElla! You travel safe, and say hello for me to all that are helping with Rusty. I am so excited for you - we all can't wait to meet him, and have a welcoming party. You will need to let us know what would be a good day. Maybe Rusty would like a few days with you before he meets us all? I bought a few cases of FF at petsmart today too, but its for the civies. I have 2 tabby civies that are unrelated that both seem to have a an allergy to gluten. They don't throw up as much on FF Classics.

Definitely the diving club is not like their new doses!!! At least Mannie is giving you yellow PSs and I'm getting pinks!!! I think they both got their dosecreases at the same time so this is the 6th cycle..right? And you got some good numbers last night. Mike and I were talking that Gracie might do best at 1u with higher % carb foods at the feeding times I'm like you...two more cycles after tonight and I'm checking in on the dosecrease!!!

I had to bring Gracie across the border near Niagra Falls between Toronto and Buffalo. I really didn't want her to have a rabies vaccination but the breeder said they were pretty strict about it at the border and sure enough they asked for her rabies certificate. I also had health certificates but all they wanted was proof of rabies. It took just a couple of seconds and off we went. I hope Rusty has a safe journey...I'm so excited for Ella and Edward and of course that Rusty will have his new forever home on Sunday!!!

Mannie I really need some niptinis!!!! I'll be over soon...you have the fleece and the fireplace, I'll get Tess, and we'll drink niptinis until we're :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Hi Marjorie! Interesting on the border crossing. I always wondered how that worked with pets. and yes on the dose increase. cycle 6. I'm just not convinced that this is the one for him. With the exception of last night he hasn't done anything with this one. two blues and that's it. I still wonder about last night - I betcha it's because he didn't get his food. mama not there to make sure he ate it, and the civvies did for him... well we will see what he does tonight, maybe tomorrow... then back to the 3.00.
