Oliver is doing pretty good today. He is out and about and not begging for water constantly. Stalled a bit this AM only 20 min. But with the hungry kitty right now you would think It was 2 hours. :) It almost time to feed the fur kids.
Numbers are higher today then yesterday but just started the Lantus 2 days ago. So I am suspecting the up and down is normal.
He has started eating the boiled chicken I made a couple days ago. That he would not have anything to do with then. LOL Cats gotta love em.
So picky... GEE! One day a wet food is fine then the next Nope no thanks. I have to mix it up daily.
Thanks all for your time and help
5 p's are going well today ;)

Welcome to Lantus Land!!

If you've not done so already, you'll want to read over the starred, sticky notes at the top of the Board. Lantus is very different from PZI. With Lantus, there is no sliding scale dosing and dosing is based on the nadir, not the pre-shot numbers. You're right that it can take a little while for the depot to form and for the numbers to stabilize. However, looking at where your pre-shot test number was, your +3 which was almost 100 points lower and it looks like your AMPS was 186 (not 206 -- at least from what's on your spreadsheet), it may be that you're seeing some bouncing.

If you actually gave Oliver his shot when his numbers were at 206, you may want to stack the 186 and the 206 in the AMPS box. Right now, it looks like your pre-shot was 186 and your +1 was 206.

Welcome to Lantus Land Kelly and Oliver!! Happy to see you made it here!

We really become a tight family here, so I hope you'll enjoy it here.

Don't forget to always put the number you actually shoot as your AMPS or PMPS number. If you want to, you can either put the 186 at the +11 from the PM cycle last night, or to "stack" them, just put 186 (space) 206 in the AMPS box. You'll have to color it yourself though. If you put it in the +11, you can just leave your remarks from today that say you stalled

When you have time, visit others condo's...You'll learn a LOT from others, as well as finding answers to questions you haven't even asked yet!!

Hi Kelly and welcome to this group. Here is a link to your previous post on health. Each day you start a new posting and link to the previous one. Just copy the link to the old post, click the URL button, then paste the link in between. That way people can check back to see what happened earlier with Oliver.

Oliver is doing pretty well for his first few days on Lantus. :-D And good job on testing during the day. You'll want to make sure you get at least a before best test at night too. Often cats (like mine) will go lower at night.
