Checking in... ultrasound today was great- the mass on his intestine has completely resolved. There's still some thickening of the intestinal wall, but the vet wasn't convinced it was lymphoma and said it could be IBD. So he got treatment today and we'll go back in a month for bloodwork but maybe skip the chemo if his clinical signs are good. Weight is up to about 12 pounds!!

Levemir dose is creeping up a bit- we just bumped up to 2.75 U. And he'll be running high for a while after chemo, so we'll just keep an eye on things. We just started a vial and have 6 more; we're going through one about every three months. So we have a good stockpile, except that what we have expires in April 2025. Any feel for how long it's good after the official expiration date? Mark's Marine says they have it in stock and I'm going to ask them when their stock expires.
 
Hi Lisa- so glad to hear Oberon ultrasound went well. What a relief! Good job gaining some weight, Oberon, that’s a really good development too :). I guess I’d say the only potential problem with going past expiration is it might lose efficacy. You’d probably notice pretty quickly in that case. I’ve used a pen past expiration, and didn’t notice any difference.
 
Well, Mark's Marine says their Levemir stock expires April 2025, same as what I already have. They said I can check back after the beginning of the year to see if they have new stock that expires later.
 
Thanks for the info, Lisa. My pharmacy didn’t seem to know anything about the supply in Canada and whether supply is drying up here too. But it sounds like it. I think my penfills are also to April 2025. Yikes.
