J.D. peed (ketones - negative) and pooed, and with lots of begging and treats hidden inside, ate his 1/4 can of FF for 1st Breffis. Ginger won't touch it.
I'm going out to PetsMart in a few..

J.D. has his bi-anual vet appointment at 5:00pm.

Oh, now Ginger's finally eating her 1st Breffis, after licking all the bowls clean, she's finally eating the fresh. :roll:

That's a much prettier start for J.D than the last several days. Maybe he's ready for another trip down to the more friendly colors today. Good luck in the shpoping madness and I hope the vetty visit goes well.

I bought 3 cases each of 13 flavors of FF and 1 case of some Special Diet Friskies, beef and chicken, I think it was.
The cans said low magnesium which helps support urinary health. I got a heating pad that is supposed to go under a cushion in a bed (none of my cat's beds have cushions that are removable, so I guess I'll try a blanket on top of the heating pad) for 1/2 off. I bought J.D. an elastic red and green ornamental christmas collar (dog size of course) for 1/2 off, Ginger a bunch of non-diabetic cat treats that were on sale, and a couple packages of GNC Ultra Mega Multivitamin Premium Formula Yummy Chicken Flavor Soft Chews for Senior Cats and GNC Ultra Mega Urinary Tract Support Premium Formula Yummy Chicken Flavor Soft Chews for J.D. which were 1/2 off.
It took two of those little tiny shopping carts they provide, but the cashier said I saved $164.00. This time, I put all the cases in the back seat of my car. Last time I went, I bought a few more cases and put them all in the trunk of my car, and worried I was hurting my front wheel drive car, with all that weight in the trunk lifting the front wheels up in the air. I didn't want to do that with my new used car. Boy, I sure can't wait until a PetsMart opens up closer to my house.

The cats were very happy to see me when I returned home and checking out the packages. Ginger got some of her treats, and J.D. thought he was getting treats too, when he got the Yummy Chicken Flavored Soft Chews :-D

I opened a can of Sophisticat Elegant Entree (which I did not see on the Janet and Binky's lists I had with me, so I only bought 2 cans) and J.D. ate 1/4 can when I returned home, and just ate Ginger's 1/4 can, now. Ginger has refused all food so far, today, except cat treats.

It's a beautiful day, and the cats are awaiting a walk. And, I'm just now getting some much needed ~O)

J.D. did some extended trotting and some galloping, and Ginger did some fast like a cheetah sprinting.

I'm so glad he finally got blue, even if just barely.
Yesterday's numbers were forced with a drop of R.
I'm also happy that he is eating. I dread that he might get ABs today at the vet. I'm going to ask for a C&S. I don't think J.D. has ever had one at his regular vet. J.D., please don't pee on the way to the vet. Please!

Ginger is trying to rip through the PetsMart bag with her treats inside (sitting on the couch) and J.D. is looking up at her.

Ginger, you need to eat your cat food! No more treats little princess.

I just had to test before leaving for the vet.
I think I'm going to try to just leash J.D., then maybe (hopefully) he won't pee on the way. Fingers Crossed.

Hope all goes well at the vet - as I'm sure that it will. Wow, all that food. I hit Petsmart for the kitty litter...what a deal.

My plan worked, and J.D. did not pee on the 3 minute ride to the vet, as he huddled on the floor in front of the passenger seat and I prayed he wouldn't go there.

He got his C&S (man, that's expensive), and his Bi-Anual bloodwork and check up. The vet also checked some of the urine with a complicated test strip with about 8 tests on it and all that was good (except he said the sugar was about 250, and obviously it was not unless my glucometer is malfunctioning), he also spun it or something and that was good, too. J.D. got all of his talons clipped real short, and his teeth checked. His gums are good and his one bad tooth has no tartar buildup or redness so maybe that toothpaste I am using on him is doing some good.
I will get he blood test results tomorrow morning, and the culture results sometime next week.

As always, J.D. was a very very good boy for the vet. The vet said if I ever need an example? cat, I'm going to call you.

J.D. had to be poked and shot as soon as we walked in the door after being poked and proded at the vet, and then he ate all his 1st Dinner (rather quickly) and we waited, and Ginger ate hers too!!! well she saved just a little bite left over for J.D.

I had the doctor show me again, how to give the IM Adequan shot. I think I'll get better at it. He did mention that it can be given Sub Q, and then went to get his doctor's book and it said "IM, IM, IM, IM, IM" and so we practiced my technique.

All is good here.
 
Nice pet supplies score! Great vetty report! I hope the blood work all come back good. Sounds like it was a good day for your crew.
 
You had a busy day!! I love stocking up on supplies and getting them at a good price helps! J.D. was such a good boy at the vet and look at that nice PMPS. Hope you have a nice relaxing night!
 
JD is looking great, Dyana! Very nice pmps and I've been checking out his numbers and he's been doing pretty good! So, you made a visit to Petsmart today, too, huh! I actually went to Petco first and got a nip nanner and heart for two of the kitties for Christmas and then went to Petsmart and got Molly a nice new collar and leash for Christmas too. I wish the sales were next week...payday week, so I could have bought more, but oh, well.

Glad vettie bean visit went well and JD is also looking good there, too. Give Ginger and JD kisses for me please! Love you too!!!
 
nice report for JD! ginger too! you were a super shopper - nothing like hitting the sales & getting good buys!

i've gotten so i take a litter box in the car every time i take punkin out, just in case. we've had one too many pee incidents on the floor of the car, so now i'm prepared. i just use a cardboard box lid inside a plastic garbage bag and dump some litter in the box lid. it works. i store it in the garage til the next car ride.
