Yesterday we were HI all day and ketones were creeping up towards 2.0. We're looking a lot better this morning. AMPS 237 and we're on the new dose of 2U. We wrapped her up in the blanket again this morning to make sure she didn't move around when we gave the injection. There isn't too much to grab, so we need more time than we used to. She got the full dose, so we'll watch her closely today.

Before, a fur shot or a partial one wasn't that big of a deal. She might get into the 300-400s but it wasn't terrible. Now if we miss, it's HI readings and ketones close to dangerous. I miss the day of just "regular" diabetes. We were getting good at dealing with that.

Oh, I'm so relieved to read this morning's report. I read your note last night from yesterday, that was worrisome. I sure hope the extra vigilance and extra care on getting that insulin into Luna pays off and she continues to improve.

Sending you prayers and support vines to you and your wife. :bighug:

Glad glucose is coming down. Ollie has no scruff, what she does have I save for her fluids. I shoot Ollie in the side or flank while she is eating. I don't try to tent, I stand on one side and reach over and shoot straight in other side. I use one finger to brush the fur aside. Restraining or holding her would make her more agitated. She doesn't flinch at all she just wants to eat. Haven't missed yet. This morning I shot while she was sleeping, she wasn't eating, but needs her shot and I got 4 hrs for her to start eating, which she did but not great.

Come on baby girl - it looks like this 2 units may help; thank goodness she saw some better numbers today. Now, take it back down Luna.
I have so much empathy for you Dan; and continue to admire how much you are giving. Please take care of yourself too;)
