AMPS 416 3.4
I'll get some spot checks in today and see what the 3.4's are doing for him.
He played last night and he seems a little better this morning as well.

He ate a little of the raw rabbit; went outside peed; came inside played, drank some water, ate some of the raw chicken and then vomited all the water and some of the raw. Lovely.
He acted fine tho before and after. He cleaned his face, I cleaned the rug, and gave him some scritches.

He ate a little of the FF beef (from breakfast) - will continue to keep an eye on him and test.

Awww he'll do anything to get some scritches. He's living up to his name.

It's probably from eating but still too high.

Maybe tomorrow since you'll be home go up to 3.6u. You've held this dose long enough.

I think its time for maybe 3.5 or 3.6u, but not doing the same at night may be affecting your progress. If you really want to drop the PM dose try just backing off .1u
this hasn't been a true test of 3.4u, because the AM starting point is not based on 3.4u from the previous dose.

remember your goal is blue numbers most of the time....

Did you see this post on nutritional values. It has the NV's raw food as being lower than what is listed on J&B's food chart. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=30232

If this is correct, then the raw that Klinger has been eating has been lower carb than the FF...I thought it was the other way around. hmmmm.

honestly i am skeptical about all analyses. I think you should pick a good nutritional food you trust and he eats and you can afford, and stick with it. Then give insulin needed to bring the numbers where you want them.

food companies change recipes, and to some degree I think they are based on an average water /can , which is quite different in reality. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm just skeptical.

one raw I examined had HONEY in it.....honey.

I saw the one with honey in it...the owner of the pet store that I now get his raw food from tried to give me a sample of the stuff. This was also after I told her that he's a diabetic.
Ok, so, 3.5; 3.6; or 3.7???? He's not doing those BIG drops like he used to do before the dental (interesting), so I'm a little more confident in going with a bigger increase.

Since you didn't really give 3.4u a true test,I wouldn't jump too far ahead of yourself.
I would try 3.5u AM and 3.4u pm. and I would hold this for 4 days at least.
I seem to remember that 3.5 and 3.6 were usually helpful when you did the sliding scale, so maybe this will do the trick.

I was liking the 3.6 until I went back and looked at your ss to see what Nancy was talking about.

So now I vote for 3.5u.
 
you may have to shoot through a few cruddy days, but hold it unless he drops too low. lets see what he does. keep testing and don't expect great things right away.
