Our deepest condolences to Noreen. Another old-timer LL kitty, DC, crossed and we are saddened. Sending healing vines to Webster, Tiger, Harvey, Minka, Sasha, Cinco, Clyde, and Amy's Dad as well as any others who need them.

It's been chilly here today and Gracie has spent a good portion of it wadding up her blankies in one of the guest rooms. She was a cuddle bug last night. In all that went on yesterday with the bobcat, who we have posthumously named Lily because she deserves to have a name, I forgot to tell you all Gracie's reaction. Lily was, at first, propped up against our bedroom door....at least the metal door outside the glass door. The way these doors are designed, we can see out but no one can see in. So Gracie could see Lily but Lilly couldn't see Gracie. We were very surprised that Gracie just sat by the door and looked at her; no hissing, no puffing up, nothing.....it was odd because in the past when she has seen one of the bobcats, she usually puffs up to make herself look as big as they are (or so she thinks). Tobey was fast asleep and missed everything.

This pink bounces are odd but when I look back on Gracie's SSs, every single year about this time through Jan, her numbers just look horrible. I can't figure out what the common denominator is. Normally, I can skootch the dose up just a tad and the bouncing stops but when I tried that this time, she dropped to 37. I'm looking at perhaps changing her feeding schedule to see if that works better with the insulin.

Thank you all very much for your kind words yesterday and keeping Lily in your prayers. I've never "met" a more courageous, brave creature who kept her dignity despite all the pain. Fly free, sweet Lily.

It sounds like Gracie knew Lily was injured and was watching over her.

Good luck adjusting Gracie's dose to help with the pinks. Maybe it has something to do with the change in seasons.

The one nice thing about cooler weather is the love and snuggles from our kitties! Sweet Gracie and Tobey! :-D I, too, wonder if somehow Gracie sensed that Lily was injured and in serious trouble? I love that you named her Lily, she deserves that honor! I am still sick over what happened to her, if it was up to me, and if I could find out who did this to her, well I guess i better not elaborate, but it has to do with one of those sagauro cactus  Fly free sweet little Lily, and land softly! Thank you for all you did to help her crossing, my heart goes out to you and Mike! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Yes, I also think that Gracie sensed that Lily was in pain and that she needed to be there with her.
Fly free, dear Lily! We all admire your courage and your strength. You will not be forgotten.

It may well be that Gracie has "change-of-seasonitis".

Have a good evening, guys,

Hugs, scritces,

Ella & Rusty

I agree with the others....kitties are very intuitive and they know when someone else needs support. Nice work, sweet little Gracie.

Trix has always fallen out of regulation this time every year, too....I'm wondering if that's why she's more "bouncy" right now, too. Interesting that Gracie does the same thing. I wonder what causes it? Gracie is looking awesome tonight!!

I just caught up on yesterday's condo, learned about Lily and shed some tears for her. It is so sad but also so lucky that she found her way to your door (literally) and got to feel love from you and Mike and the rescue team. She must have sensed that she would be safe there and you would help her. You are two wonderful people!
