Cleo has 4 P's in place this morning. Her appy was so-so. Seems like she is getting harder to please. I have resorted to mixing a bit of FF LC in the top of her LC Low phos. Oh, original CC, how I miss you :cry:

Cleo did have a dosecrease this morning - I preset the calipers last night.

This week is just a 3 day work week - Yippee!!!!

Good luck with the dosecrease. I hope it brings more blues and greens. Hopefully Cleo's appy will get better and she'll stop being so picky. It's frustrating when they don't want to eat.

Question: would it be a terrible thing to mix a teeny weeny bit of the CC into or on top of her food? I have wondered about this for Twice when he eventually, and he will, loses interest in the pates. I know we give that to boost their numbers, but generally it totals at least a few tsps...what would like 1/2 or 1 tsp over the course of the day do?

Yay for your 3 day work week! Oh right! It's Turkey week for you all!! Lucky kitties of the USA unite and eat necks and gizzards!! :-D

Kim, I think the new CC is 23% carbs (or around there), so that would be like giving her MC most of the time. Cleo would love that!!! When it first came out, I tried it, and she loved it, but it really spiked her BG (Wonder why?) That was before Marje was able to get the new numbers on it. Plus the phos is now very high also.

I wish she liked the Wellness. I may have to try some of their flavors again. Thanks for thinking of a solution for me :-D

Morning Jane! I hope you find a flavour that will work for Cleo. When Papaya was first diagnosed she was really picky and it was getting embarrassing to go back to the pet food store yet again and say nope, she won't touch this one either . . . (you should have seen the look on her face the first time she dared to nibble some lamb) lucky for me it turned out she doesn't have expensive tastes (or any other health issues) so now she's quite happy with her Friskies.

Hi, Jane, I hope Cleo's appy improves. It's hard to please our finicky kitties sometimes.
Ripley was a CC-lover, too. She doesn't mind the Wellness, as long as it's decorated with treats ~ but there will always be a soft spot in her heart (on her tastebuds?) for the orig. CC. Have you tried Friskies Special Turkey & Giblets (5% carbs, under 200 phos) for Cleo? It's sometimes hard to find, but I saw that our Target carries it. It was a hit with Ripples when she wasn't eating well recently, and other kitties seem to enjoy it...

Good luck with the fuds. I so remember the CC. Mannie loved that too, also Merrick's Surf and Turf. Ah heck - he just liked to eat. I hope Cleo's appy will improve. It's tough when they tire of a particular fuds. Our fall back was wellness, but on the poultry - he didn't like the others, and also FF.

Good luck with the new dose. I hope Cleo likes it.

Good luck on her dosecrease and how are the calipers working for you? I still haven't opened mine yet. No time to sit and play with them :roll:

Have you tried Wellness 3oz cans?
I discovered recently that Lucy likes 3oz (usually made in Canada) much more than 5.5oz (made in USA).
I think Ella said Rusty eats Wellness made in Canada but wouldn't touch Wellness made in USA.

Cleo will eat the Friskies Spec Diet foods if I sprinkle Forti flora on top. :-D She likes the regular Friskies, but higher carb and phos :sad: Her favorite is still FF pates. I will sometimes mix a little of that in with something that is good for her.

Tonight she had Chicken and Tuna Chuckles, she usually always likes that, but don't want to give her fish all the time. I wonder why some of the fish flavors are lower phos than some of the non-fish?

Tonight was one of the biggest differences in syringe vs. caliper reading. I double and triple checked it. I still do not have the confidence in myself or the calipers yet :lol: :lol: DH says I look like a mad scientist, with the light on my head, big glasses on, holding different vials, and contraptions in my hand. :-D He says that he could never give Cleo her insulin after seeing the process I go through drawing it up. I must make it look easier ;-) And I am very glad that he will test for me :-D

Ann & Tess told us about this Liver Powder. It is nothing but ground up chicken liver, used to help a cat change to a raw diet. We used so much fortiflora on top of Zener's food, we were so glad to have something else to try. We ordered it online and Zener loves it!

Trix isn't a huge Wellness fan, either, but it's really all we're left with since she HATES EVO. I mix a teeny bit of BFF Tuna and Chicken Chuckles in with the Wellness, then sprinkle FortiFlora on top...this combo seems to work for her most of the time. I miss our FF and Purina One days....

Pam, If nothing else, I will now be consistent with Cleo's dose! :-D

Anne & Liz, thank you. I just ordered the liver powder. Cleo is more of a lizard, I mean liver/beef fan than poultry. Hope it makes many other things taste better for her :-D

Amy, I will try a few different Wellness again, small and medium cans, since I heard that there is a difference. I did try the Pinnacle and Precise, but it seems like Cleo doesn't like the whipped texture or something. I also tried Wild Callings, but didn't go over big either. She still eats the ZiwiPeak with no toppings on it. Just the Venison & Fish, no lamb.

I may try the Merrick grain free pates. The old ones were both under 200 for phos, and LC. Wonder if they changed much?
