Yesterday's Condo

I think I may have furshot yesterday AM. He was at 178 at +5 last night, so the 188 was actually a bit of a pleasant surprise. I'm working at home today (or was. work is done!), so the kids have been hanging out with me. We just had a bit of unwanted excitement. Willie was outside and so I took Herbie out on her lead. She was NOT pleased and managed to get away with the lead. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile After streaking about the entire fence line, she ended up in one of my huge trees. After 20 minutes of her crying, Willie crying, and me up on a ladder just praying that the neighbors didn't decide to let out their golden retriever at that moment, Herbie finally jumped/fell into the neighbor's yard. Thankfully the chain link fence was low and i was able to grab the lead and scoop her up. I think that will be the beginning and end of the Outdoor Adventures of the Bit Bit. I did get a little lucky. After getting her in the house and loving on her for a bit, I went out to put away the ladder, and who should greet me but the dog!

Willie's now snuggled with me on the sofa, though I need to get started on Thanksgiving prep which means one more quick trip to the grocery store for a couple last minute needs... cake mix and cream cheese for Paula Deen's Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake. Think a cross between pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake... ON CRACK! It involves two sticks of butter and a pound of powdered sugar. But is very tasty and will be good for sharing. DS has to work from 1:30 to 10:00pm tomorrow at CVS so I'll be taking thanksgiving dinner to her and a couple co-workers.

Hope that all who are traveling arrive safe and sound to their destinations and everyone enjoys their holiday!!

Great +4 for Willie!! Wow I guess you did have some excitement. Silly girl! Thank heavens the dog wasn't out. Glad you didn't have to call the fire department! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Christie. Your cake sounds yummy!!

I'm glad Herbie's adventure ended well! Willie came down nicely today. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Herbie had an adventure, that's for sure! Stu got chased up a tree once by the neighbor's dog--20 feet up and he was front declawed (not by us!). He hung on as long as he could, peed on the dog, fell to the ground, and then stared down the dog, who ran away!!

I hope Willie will have a talk with Herbie. That's what big brothers do, right?

Your pumpkin dessert sounds awesome. That's a ton of sugar!!!! Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your DS and friends.

Well that would have scared the you know what out of me!!!! Holy cow bit bit!!!!

Just one question on the pumpkin butter cream cheese cake....where's the nutritional analysis

Auntie Christie...Tobes here. I coming to get Herbie....I scared for her now...you takes her out and almost loses her...my Herbie...my first and only gurlfren!!! YIKES!!! ppssssssttttt..don't tell my bean I bring Herbie here to live.

Thanksgiving is now choreographed, brine mix prepped, cranberry sauce made and the pumpkin butter cake ingredients out for baking first thing tomorrow (after the turkey goes into the brine). It is horrible for you, but it is so rich that a little square is really enough (okay, maybe two!   ) I'll be taking some to DS' crew at work, then I'll take the rest in to tbp on Friday. The two "Mikeys" are going to be there, so the cake should disappear fast! I actually made banana pumpkin whole wheat muffins this morning. I was experimenting and they turned out pretty good... they need a bit more sweetness and a bit more spice, but with a nubbin of butter and some homemade peach ginger jam, I hardly notice.

Willie is cross because I've imposed curfew on outside time. Tobey, he may let you have Herbie... though they've taken to wrestling death matches lately. I love that she cries when fighting an old man with no teeth or front claws!! Though, I've discovered that nobody has ever told Bit Bit "no," so she has no concept of its meaning. Good luck with THAT one, kid! You think your Gracie is a princess?

I have to say, even with iffier numbers, I remain pleased that Willie continues to hold the back end of his cycles well. Gives me hope that Mr. P may sputter to life yet!!

Okay, bedtime for me! Hopefully will be able to catch up on condos tomorrow!

Willie is looking gorgeous in GREEN! I hope the kitties enjoy their first T-giving together!
Hmmm, maybe we will have to put an outdoor curfew in place for our big guy. He wants to go outside now around 10 pm, even when it's been mid-20s F., for a patrol. In the summer, Liz would sit outside and read condos while he prowled. ;-)
