Good morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O)

All 5 p's present. Tarragon is a cuddly, purry, happy boy. CPC again today. He actually pushed Turnup out of the way and tried to finish hers this morning. I have never seen him do that. She just went btb.

Mason got home yesterday. He and DH left at 3 AM this morning to go spend guy time in the woods and will be gone until tomorrow around noon. Sister and DSIL get here from Iowa this afternoon. It should be a lot of fun and relaxing. My sister, Mason and I will go Black Friday shopping either overnight Thursday or early early Friday morning. Lots of cooking and baking to be done so my helpers better be in tip top shape today and not sleep on the job again. They are busy cleaning eachother up after breffis at my feet.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Think blue and green kitties, and that goes for you too Tarragon!

Re: 11/23 Tarragon AMPS 377

Wow - you're brave, facing those middle-of-the-night Black Friday crowds!!! Be sure you've got heavy-duty padding on to protect yourself against getting trampled  !

It's so funny that T is now a consistent member of the CPC! I wish my herd would fall into that routine. Instead, they all prefer to nibble...and since we've got 5 different diets going, you know what that means for the bean!

Now, little Tarragon, you and Trixie MUST get off the pink floor - and stay off it!

It sounds like you have a lovely weekend lined up. Enjoy it!

Amy

We'll make that three; Tarragon, Trixie and Weezer whatever are you doing up there?? That is no party floor!

It's great that Tarragon is eating so well and even helping out Turnup.

I second Amy on the Black Friday shopping. It's crazy out there!

Re: 11/23 Tarragon AMPS 377

Morning Melissa! I'm sorry to see Tarragon up there on the Pink Floor. Jetta has joined the party up there this morning too. Must be a wild one. How did dinner last night turn out? Have a great time with your family!

Tarragon, way to go after Turnup's fuds too! Good for you! How about a nice easy slide to a lower floor? Melissa, could you post the cheese babies recipe? Amazingly, nothing turned up on google for "cheese babies recipe".  Have a nice day with DS and DSIL.

Liz - They may be called something else to the rest of the world. DH's grandma used to make them for him and she may have just given them that name to make it more fun for a little kid. DH loves them with cranberry sauce on top. Others use jelly or just eat them plain. I know some have tried them using crescent roll dough, but, if you are comfortable working with yeast, the homemade dough is so worth it.

Cheese Babies:

Dough
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup warm water
2 pkgs yeast
2 eggs, beaten
5 cups flour

Scald milk. Stir in sugar, salt and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Measure warm water into large warm bowl. Sprinkle in yeast and stir until dissolved. Stir in the lukewarm milk mixture, beaten eggs and 1 cup flour. Beat until smooth. Add enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8 minutes (yes 8 minutes). Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled - about an hour. Punch it down and let it rise again until almost doubled - about 1/2 hour.

Filling
16 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
6 TB flour
2 egg yolks
1 tsp grated lemon peel
1 TB lemon juice

While dough is rising, soften the cream cheese. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, egg yolks, lemon peel and lemon juice.

Take 1/2 dough and roll into 15" square. Cut into twenty five 3" squares. Place on a greased baking sheet. Place 1 TB of cheese mixture in the center of each square. Bring two diagonally opposite corners to center of each square. Overlap them slightly and pinch together. Cover and let rise until doubled - 30 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 11 - 12 minutes.

AH Tarragon, what are you doing on the pink floor... well, better than some other kitty I know....

Re: 11/23 Tarragon AMPS 377 +2 343

Hi Melissa and Tarragon

Thanks for the compliment on Miss Kitty's picture. I'll be sure to pass it on to her. Hope both our kitties will come down soon. Good luck with the Black Friday shopping, we may try a little bit of that too and Happy Thanksgiving.

Re: 11/23 Tarragon AMPS 377 +2 343

I remember when we were asking what are the cheese babies, and I forgot to go back to your condo and check. Yum, they sound good! Oh you guys are so brave going Black Friday shoping. I am visualizing the crowds shown on TV where they all wait at the door and then dominos people! It sounds like you're waiting and not going at midnight, right. I shop Black Friday online, call me chicken! Hope Mr. T comes down and so funny with truing to clean Turnup's plate, too.

Finally we have blueeeee. Tarragon has been playing all night with his nanners and crumpled up pieces of paper. My sister played with him for an hour and now he is all tuckered out. Way to go go big guy!!

Everyone have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!! I am very thankful for all of you.

Cheese babies! Thanks for the recipe. They look wonderful. I'll have to try them over Christmas break, when I have more time. How many has DS had? Great to see Tarragon in Blue, what a great color for the handsome Mr. T. I guess tomorrow is HIS day, T-day.

Yay BLUE!!! Trixie hit it for the first time in days tonight, too. It's Thanksgiving, FDMB style!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Melissa!

Nice BLUE tonight, Tarragon!

Thanks for the "cheese babies" recipe, Melissa. I'm going to pass it on to Edward, who loves to bake. They sound like a pastry we used to eat for breakfast when we lived in Vienna: Kolatschen. The filling was sweetened lemon-ricotta cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about them!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving with the family and your shopping on "Black Friday".
