Good morning LantusLand! Yesterday's condo

AMPS 334

I did tests all night as I thought he would be dropping but he didn't drop much. I can't keep doing this night testing unless I have a clue he's gonna go too low. I've done it for 3 nights now and today it's catching up with me. I'm exhausted, crabby, forgot to give hubby morning potassium for an hour and almost forgot to give KT his AM shot. I KNOW nights are just as important as the days but there's only ONE of me and a lot of 'them'. I can't sleep during the day as must keep an eye on hubby, his attacks happen suddenly - literally between words of a sentence or between steps while walking. When he's in bed at night, at least I can sleep knowing if he DOES go 'out', he won't fall. I give him a huge potassium dose at bedtime to hopefully ward off attacks overnight. He's already torn one shoulder apart completely, broken the other shoulder blade, ripped both rotator cuffs, seriously damaged both knees and broken 2 fingers over the last 5 years. That doesn't count the cuts and bruises.

Guess I'm a real whiney baby today.....I wanna have a pity party but there's not time....

With all that night testing, you are allowed to be crabby. ((((Lyresa)))) Hope KT comes down for you today.

So sorry to hear about DH. Wow! He and you have had it rough. Healing vines for a healthy 2012.

Try and get a little rest in there today.

Hi guys .. everyone understands nighttime testing is rough .. it's ok to be crabby here and to want a pity party .. you are dealing with a lot and it can get to be to much sometimes .. Just remember to give KT extra hugs and kisses, that always helps my moodiness! I won't be here this weekend so have a great holiday!

(((Lyresa)))...you are not having a pity party. It's hard enough to get up with all things perfect in our lives. But you have ALOT of responsibilty with DH and keeping your own health up. KT is like Gracie was on lantus....a little unpredictable. I looked at his SS to see if I could see a pattern....like if he got a +2 spike that he didn't come down much or no spike and he came down alot or to pick out if he is one that consistently nadirs and I didn't see something that could tip you off as to whether you need to get a mid cycle night test. If he has a low yellow or blue PS, maybe a test at +7 or +8 would be enough to see if he has come down lower.

You are a great mamabean and a wonderful caregiver to your DH and your indomitable spirit and optimism always keep me smiling.
