I contacted Gerber's for clarification as to the carbs in their meat baby food and was told all 2nds meat varieties contain 2 grams of carbs per jar. I'm not sure how that equates with percent.
3.5 calories / gram of carbohydrate for cats.
Did you get grams of protein and fat?
The calorie count on the jar will be for humans - 4.5 calories per gram for protein and carbohydrate, 9 for fat, so we may be able to work backwards, if necessary.
All I asked for was the percentage of carbs and got the response in grams. According to Tanyas'CRF list the chicken has 60.89% protein and 35.11% fat , turkey has 58.43 protein and 31.50 fat and the ham 57.95 protein and 19.49 fat. It's her 2014 figures and while many of the cat foods include carbs the baby food doesn't.
2 grams protein @ 3.5 cal = 7 cal
2 grams carbohydrate @ 3.5 cal = 7 cal
4 grams fat @ 8.5 cal = 36 cal
Total in amount ____ = 50 cal
Is that for a jar or a serving? If a serving, what is the size?
