Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all. Thanks John & PurrFace and Carla & Furball for the visits last night and sorry I missed you both. I wonder what surprise coffee drink Manne kitteh Barista will be delivering today. ~O) ~O) Mannie, we sure do love you!
Maggie has a low sunny yellow, and I think it is part food spike with the free feeding overnight. All is well with Mags today. She had prezzies yesterday, so we don't expect any news for Detective Poo today. I didn't hear any chatter last night, so we both slept well. Mags was asleep on her blanket on the sofa. I'm thinking of buying a heated bed for Mags for the winter. I notice she's always looking for warmth. Her fur is growing back on her tummy after the u/s shave. Are the beds meant to be placed on the floor with the electrical outlet mechanism? Maggie's bed is on the sofa.
Weather should be pleasant today. I'm picking up a friend, and we're meeting another friend and her Aunt at a restaurant for an early Thanksgiving Dinner. This friend's Aunt resides in Assisted Living, and my friend wasn't sure if her aunt was well enough, but she got the okay. Should be nice for her just to get out for a while.
Thinking of Roni, DH & Moonie, Dale, Liz & Zener, and healing vines for any kitties needing them and their Beans.

Maggie sure had a nice day yesterday - I see green in there. Guess she likes the new dose. You did increase, right?

YAY! We have prezzies too! Well done Maggie. You have done so well with Maggie and keeping this part of her under control. :cool:

Enjoy your time with your friends today. It sounds like it will be a very nice time together. How wonderful to be able to take your friends aunt out. I know she will enjoy that.

Nice idea on the heated bed for Maggie. I've never had one, and no clue on how they work, or where they can be placed. I bet she'd really like that. The thought has crossed my mind about doing that for the kitties here, as it really does get cold in the winter. They too are warmth seekers.

Bummer on the connectivity issues! I hope that gets better...

For your reference Ann: I have an electric blanket placed on an opium bed for my cats during winter days. They love it. Since not all of them sleep together on the bed, I have hot water bottles for the others too. A hot water bottle can keep the warmth for around 8 hrs. It's very convenient & safe. Once you wrap the bottle with a towel & place it near the cats. They will sense the heat immediately & cuddle it if they need the warmth.

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting this drop! :mrgreen: Maggie's pattern usually is to Nadir closer to the +5 and +6! She's throwing me curves to keep me on the straight and narrow! :lol:

Thanks Michelle and yes, I did increase, just a drop and amazed at what a drop will do. Mags didn't give me any warning she was dropping. She just had some food and I need to give her meds, too. Good for Mannie having prezzies, too. Yes, I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and nice no cooking for me, not that I do that much anyway! :lol:

Helen, thanks on the hot water bottle. That might work better. I hope I can find one. They seem to have the things you warm up in the microwave are very popular.

Michelle, good thing I have a few hours yet before leaving today. I think she'll do a slow rise; if not, there's always FF T&G but do hate to use it.

Hi Ann - good luck! And I do believe that you are right. She'll either come up, or have a nice surf so you can still go with your friends. If not, then bring on the FF T&G! :-D

What is going on with Maggie and Simon this morning!?? They both have dropped really fast. Crazy!

Ok Maggie, you have your mamabean's attention now slow down and go about 20 paces back up in the green zone. The new dose seems to be working. I was very surprised also, Ann, at the amount of change that occurs with such a teeny, weeny increase or decrease in insulin.

It's so nice that you and your friend are taking her aunt out of the assisted living facility for her Thanksgiving meal. I'm sure she appreciates it more than you know. Enjoy your day with your friend and her aunt and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

John, thanks for stoppying by to visit. I am always so amazed at the drop added to a dose. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! I think so, too, on my friend's Aunt. She was so happy when she got the okay to go out with us and can't wait. It looks like Mags will give permission today.

Hi Jo & Scratchie, thanks for stopping by today. I think a surf it is today for Mgs. She was still sleeping when she let me do a poke on her ear. She went back to sleep and didn't stay awake for her treat. :lol: She has a hard life.

Mags is just getting the low stuff out of the way early so you can go out and enjoy being w/ your friends. It sounds like a lovely way to have Thanksgiving. I've been running around like a nut case! @-)

Another thought is one of those microwaveable pillows filled w/ flaxseed , i think. Nice and warm but safe too.

Ann, thanks on the idea of the pillow with flaxseed heated in the microwave. Yes, I was thinking more along the lines of safey with the way Mags likes to sleep up high, either on the sofa or recliner.

Much better number at the +5. She does so well with just her own food and not any higher carb. very carb sensitive.

What a nice day for Maggie today! That extra drop is looking very pretty on her. Have a great dinner today. Letting someone else do the cooking is one more thing to be thankful for.

On the heated cat beds, I've seen two kinds. One is a regular bed with sides and probably supposed to be on the floor. My kitties prefer to be up and the one I bought had very little takers. :roll: The other kind I've seen (and should have bought) is an electric pad. It would still need to be plugged in, but is designed to be put higher up. My cousin has used another idea with her cats. She bought one of those electric pads people use for their backs, and wraps it in a towel, then puts that on a chair. Very popular during the winter.

Georgia, she is very carb sensitive, and also the Lactulose med she takes may have some effect. Glad Simon will be okay.

Wendy, Helen also mentioned the heated pads. That's a great idea with the heated pads and wrap in a towel.

Hi Deborah, little Maggie never used to be a diver in her earlier diagnosis days, but now she's hard to predict.. Yes, so glad she came up on her own. Happy Thanksgiving to you all, too.

It looks like Maggie surfed and slepy away. She ate the food I left her, so not a bad PMPS. Our Thanksgiving Dinner was so nice and food excellent, all the usual traditional food. My friend's Aunt really enjoyed "getting out with the girls" :lol: as she called us. She invited all of us to dine with her at her Assisted Living Dining Room when we can pick a good day and time for all of us, how nice.

Marje, Happy Thanksgiving to you, Mike Gracie, Tobes & Gus. I'm so glad Mike is home this holiday, and sounds like you have a really nice day planned.
 
What a great day for Maggie! Glad she didn't keep you home though. Your dinner sounds wonderful. What a great way to spend the day. Happy Thanksgiving dear friend!!
 
Detective poo here, checking in. No, I didn't really expect any action today but I have seen recent action here so I've been busy. Very nice cycle for Maggie today! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
