No need to stay up. Feed before you go to bed. He might keep dropping till the end of the cycle. Can someone give him a snack later in the cycle? Sometime between +6 and +9?

@Bandit's Mom I can set an alarm. I really need to invest in an auto feeder but I don't know how to really deal with the fact that we have two cats. Would it make sense to wake up at +7 or +8 to test and feed?

Either of those times are fine.
Some autofeeders will open only for the cat it is programmed for. If your cats are microchipped.

@Bandit's Mom I have seen those kind but kt seems they are likely a bit more expensive. I do need to get one though. Is it ok for me to actually wait until +9 to test and feed?
