Come on down now chester ... this is such a low pink and you are so close to seeing yellow ... just a little bit of work and you'll be there! Have a great day guys!

Re: 11/22 Chester's amps 309

binks is no expert...but he keeps telling me there's no such thing as "overfed cat"

Re: 11/22 Chester's pmps 352

I'm sure I overfed him last night and that's why he's high this morning. Puked in the am (too much chicken after breakfast) Refed. Then DH fed again sometime between 8:30 and 9:30. Very out of whack day for all involved.

Re: 11/22 Chester's pmps 352

Yay! Just got the autofeeder and set it up. Was afraid it would be too deep but Chester ate ALL of his food out of it...and usually he never eats all of his food in one sitting. I'm going to look for some glass ashtrays or little dishes that will fit to hopefully avoid any reaction to the plastic. I have it set for a snack at +3 and again at +4.5.

The best part is that he wasn't phased by the sound and neither was the dog who will be spending his days in the same room with the feeder (although not on the same level as the feeder). The dog is afraid of most sounds, including...of all things...recycling (not a very green dog) so this is even better news.

Had to rip the instructions off immediately as they were peeling and stoping the bowls from advancing, just as I had read on line. After that, however, it turns fine.

Take the 5-section insert with you when you go shopping for the little glass bowls, just to be sure they fit and are not too tall to stop the tray from turning.

Good luck w/the feeder training. Gayle had a good suggestion about taking the feeder tray w/you when you shop for the little bowls.

Curry is still in Feeder Training School. She failed the final exam today....Came home and the food was sitting all pretty in her bowl. Ugh. Gonna get down to business for the next 6 days while I'm off.

I bet Chester gets the feeding thing down w/out any problems....he sounds like such a smart kitty.

You know, he really is! I'm very proud of him. I had a friend visit who loved cats but wasn't too keen on dogs. Of all my cats she actually preferred Chester the least because he "acted too much like a dog" always dropping things at her feet to play fetch with him, tugging at her pants leg if she didn't respond to his none-so-subtle screams to play, licking, licking, licking....

Good idea about taking the tray with...I was wondering how I was going to get just what I needed.

So far he's happy with it, more so than his actual food bowl. He likes eating right out of the can and I'm thinking that he thinks this is some kind of can because of the extra depth (hmmmm...maybe not so smart after all). The noise didn't bother him at all.

I'm not sure if these are the best feeding times for him (no food after +5.5) but I'll play around with it. His nadir is usually around +4/5/6 (in other words...not sure when it really is). Suggestions on this would be welcome.

See....Chester is very smart....already eating out of the feeder. Good boy.

Regarding "no food" for kitties.....the conventional wisdom is nothing from +10 until shot time.....And maybe try using the feeder at his regular feeding times.....Some folks will give a "snack" during the day....at +8 or +9 to keep the preshot low....and to see if the kitty's pancrease is working. I'm using +8 for now....sometimes it keeps the preshot low...and other times, not so much.
