Cros posting here as well to get a few more opinions on what direction to take Cini Mini's OTJ Trial.

He is now in Day 4 of the trial and his readings are neither high enough to say they warrant going back on the juice, but not really low enough to say he's regulating to a tight regulation.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Maybe this is just how he's regulates while off Lantus insulin?

Are you working with any of the Lantus dosing people? None of the numbers in the trial look very good to me. I personally would be giving insulin until I consistantly got non-diabetic numbers and you have consistant diabetic numbers yet. I don't know your history and I don't know the circumstances of your OTJ trial t these numbers so I can't advise you, but to me, your chart looks like Cini Mini still needs insulin.

Thanks everyone for your concern and encouragement. I think I am going to give Cini a rest tonight and we'll start fresh in the morning with an AMBG and try doing a drop of Lantus at that time.

Hi Cathy,

Not so good news - looks like cini still needs a tiny dose of insulin.

Good news? - For four days without insulin, those are really good numbers. Not quite "there" yet, but if his pancreas wasn't at least trying to do its job, his numbers wouldn't have stayed as low or as consistent as they have stayed. That's encouraging to me.

Thanks Carl.

I am going to put Cini back on the Lantus tomorrow and go with 1 drop this time (with my eyesight I will be standing next to a bright light squinting my hardest!)

Just trying to get the food routine down now. The ladies in the Lantus forum have been giving some great suggestions and examples for food timing. Hopefully that helps too.
