Well, I should add that the house is no longer quiet as I picked up three kittens and their mother and they love to trounce across the floor ALL NIGHT. They don't ever sleep!!!!. They are loving their freedom though. The other group which I am holding only temporarily (newborns) are great because they do sleep - in fact all they do is sleep. They only peep when I take them out to kiss them.
I am happy to report that both momma cats are loving the ultra hydrated Wellness Core canned food which is wonderful since I am sure that all they got at the shelter was dry food. They act like it is a perfectly cooked Filet Mignon. The kittens have taken some licks as well. I have to prepare a primer on the dangers of feeding dry food to hand out to potential adopters.
Alska got to see the more spirited kitten as she pranced out of the room and right up to him. He was only slightly horrified and he did come and sleep on the bed last night which he did not do the night before.
 And here is your poster child for that primer my new foster Casey was being free fed Science Diet M/D and yesterday tipped the scales at 27.6 lbs.
Casey is the first cat I've ever seen with rolls of fat around his eyes!! If something isn't directly in front of him he can't see it for the blubber..
Did I read that right? You have two litters of kittens now? And I thought it was hard when I had only two kittens (literally) underfoot. Ever hear the phrase, "herding kittens?" Yeah, good luck with that! ;-)
Well the first litter will be easy to find homes for really fast. I already have someone in mind to market their cute little faces to. Today would have been the day they were to be euthanized so it was necessary. The second litter though was not at all planned or a good idea but it was the only idea. Luckily another foster has stepped up and is taking them (newborns) tonight. I said I could not commit to sick cats but the newborn's mother (whom I will really miss) has a URI and gave it to the other mother. Poor thing. Luckily her toddlers are eating the Wellness core canned food now and I can do a once a day dose of AB. This will be my last foster for awhile though. My mother's cat is coming to me soon - she's fifteen. I have had her daughter since she was a kitten and she's fourteen. I don't have too many years left with them although my 14 year old is looking very young and frisky now that she is on the raw. I will post pictures of the kittens as soon as I can get them to sit still. You will see why I agreed to foster them.
