11/21/14 China PMPS- 250

Hello,

Well China's BG went from 500 from the AMPS to 250 in the PMPS. I will do a spot check at +3 to see where she is at. Yesterday at +3 she dropped pretty fast, want to avoid that again so will watch it try to get her to come down slow and easy. Other than that she is doing fine, eating good, however is still peeing outside the little box and don't know why she is doing this. Any ideas?

Happily, shooting lower means there is less distance to fall - so that's a good thing. Great to see the lower pmps tonight! It looks like she's going lower overnight and you're seeing the bounce high at amps. It's great that she's clearing bounces within a day!

I saw your note on the spreadsheet that you're thinking it might be from the carbs you're giving her when she gets lower at night. It could be, but unless it's really super high carbs, like regular dry food, they wouldn't usually bump the blood sugar up to a 500+ number. I'm thinking it's her liver helping with making those highs. Fortunately, the more she's in green numbers the more she'll accept it as normal and hopefully the bouncing will lessen.

You're doing a good job of mastering all of this, Vickie. There is a lot to take in.

Ok so China's BG went from 250 to 96 at +3 feed her small amount of LC food, and checked again at +5 and had gone down to 75 so I fed her another small amount of LC wet food. Is this the right thing to do? Am just afraid it will go to low is all. Will check again at +1

Great job vickie. Looks like China has a nice green surf going on tonight. She's only dropped 20 points in 2 hours. I think I would check her again one hour after your last test. You only need to intervene with high carb if she goes under 50. If you need help and no one else is on, the directions for low numbers is on the yellow starred sticky "shooting and handling low numbers. "

Ok thanks Julie is good to know about giving high carbs only if number is under 50. Though today is not starting off to be a good one for her numbers, but am hoping it will turn around. Because of my stupid mistake she is paying the price. I will keep my fingers crossed, I so want more of those green numbers or at least blue, am tired of the red, black and even purple ones. LOL
