THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF CATS OR DOGS. THERE ARE MILLIONS NEEDING A HOME RIGHT NOW AT SHELTERS EVERYWHERE. EVEN PUREBREAD!! THERE IS NO GOOD REASON TO BREED. NOT ONE!
Each year, approximately 3.7 million shelter animals are euthanized.

I just got back from the Vet. Ravan was so stressed out there his blood pressure went over 200. Tech could not get a good reading. He was shaking & crying the entire time. Even my Vet said that stress is a major problem for all of us & our animals. Sometimes I feel it's not worth it to take them to the vet if it stresses them so much.

Years ago my cats rarely ever went to the vet & nearly all lived over 20 yrs (one to 24)

I was very concerned about him gaining weight but to my surprise he only gained a few ounces. He weighs 13 lbs. His winter coat must be making him look fatter. I'm still going to try to get him to lose a bit I feel it's healthier for him. I got him to play a bit today chasing a string.

I'll get the results in a few days to check his kidneys.

Ravan your looking bootimus! I'm sorry he was sooo stressed at the vet. We just can't convince these furry ones that those weird hoomans are trying to help. Wouldn't it be nice to have all vet visits as house calls!?! Travel stress eliminated!
I hope Ravan is doing ok with the seizure(s) and Alice is doing good too. I pray it was just a "fluke" thing. I have a civvie that has grand mal seizures ~ every 6 weeks like clockwork. It's def. very stressful for us and them.
Have a wonderful rest of the day Joy.

Do you give her CBD oil? Ravan has been having seizures for over a year now but when I was giving him CBD Oil it was 6 months since his last seizure. I stopped the CBD oil because it increases the appetite & I thought he was gaining weight.
This time it was only 3 weeks since his last seizure. I'm going back to giving 2 drops of CBD oil.

Do you know what's causing the seizures?

I don't give him anything for the seizures. I wish I knew what caused them. I'm assuming over activity of some neurological process, unknown to me. Stimpy has them when he's asleep. I think it has smthg to do with his REM pattern. If I notice him having highly active dreams ....twitching , acting out ...I wake him up. I'm sure he doesn't like that too much.... mom I was about to pounce on the mouse:cat: I haven't investigated it further with a vet. Honestly, we don't have that type of cash. Most vets will rx barbiturates/benzodiazepines if the seizures are severe enough. I'm not a fan of those medications, unless absolutely necessary. Thank goodness Stimpy's seizures last about 3-5 min... active convulsions...followed by recovery(agitation/vocalization/disorientation) of about 10 mins. I've heard of the benefits of CBD and have used it on my german shepherd in the past, for pain. If it's working for Ravan I'd continue and find some way for him to shed some weight(if he's tubbing up on ya). I wish I could help you more. Just sharing my experience. BTW Stimpy has been having seizures for about 8 years. He is practically(that's another story) normal in every way.

I wish I could take them all home with me.
Me too. I just breaks my heart. All of my cats have been rescues in one way or another. I can't go to the shelters. Just thinking about it makes me cry. I do support them with food, litter and such.

Saying prayers for good test results. :bighug: And still holding you in my heart.

Awww...that pic in your first post today is heartbreaking. I don't know why breeders are tolerated these days...with so many unwanted animals...no one should ever be allowed to breed another single living animal..it's so sad.

I'm sorry Ravan had a tough time at the vet...but the report sounds like it was ok...at least on the weight thing. I'm with you on the CBD oil...give it to him...hope that it helps with the seizures.

Have a restful evening Joy!

Those poor babies! I would take them all if I could. If everyone would just spay and neuter.
I hope Ravan is recovering from his traumatic vetty visit. Hope you get good test results back.
