Nice to have Cosmo breaking his bounce!

So...yeah...DH and I talked about upping Cosmo’s dose yesterday, and I said we might need to think about going up to 1.5 units and DH said “that’s a larger increase than normal”. I said, “but he is on 1.25 units now”, and DH said he has been giving Cosmo maybe a fat 1 unit :facepalm:

So...we have Cosmo the actual 1.25 last night  and I updated the SS.

This morning, Cosmo was sitting right beside the bed super hungry. So I fed him since it was about 5 mins before +10. Now that Cosmo has full on refused the MD wet, we are struggling a bit with finding the right feeding amount/timing, so he isn’t too hungry at fast time.

Guess who is working today? :( me. 2 more days till a day off! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

@JaxBenji I was wondering if you might have the link to those special goggles or yours? DH (who is the insulin shot man) is having a harder time measuring the smaller dose now that we aren’t several units higher still.

Might need to invest in calipers and goggles

lol, goggles. I'm laughing so hard. Every time I have them on, my husband asks if I'm working on a diamond:p I got these off amazon and I use the strongest magnifying option (3.5x)- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PZ6BB9Z/?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20

I got the calipers from Harbor Freight that are often recommended on the board - we have a Harbor Freight store near us and they didn't have the 4in ones in stock so we got the 6in ones - which I kind of like since I have more "handle" to hold.

Be warned, once you go this route, you'll never go back to your old way :)

Just wanted to add that if you go the calipers route and have a smart phone or tablet, you can use that for your light table. I use the MyLight app on my ipad, turn off all the lights and wear my goggles ;) You can also take a picture of a white piece of paper and use that as your light table. The calipers post (linked here) is pretty great if you haven't checked it out yet.

Hope you had a good shift at work and Cosmo surfed safely :bighug:

Thank you!!!!

I tried to post this yesterday but I think that was when the board went down:

You can't order from Harbor Freight in Canada. I picked up the calipers from Lee Valley as I happened to catch them on sale: https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/sho...TDCfRXMs1KAZ1GG0wup3qM8yAGSQiVbhoC04kQAvD_BwE

You can also check Canadian Tire but they were more expensive and plenty of options less expensive options on Amazon.ca:

I use a 10x eye loup. Anything less than that is not enough magnification for me, personally.

I highly recommend using calipers. I don't know what type of syringes you use, but I use the BD Ultrafine II and some of the markings are off by over .25u, meaning, if I'm dosing to the line then Butters would sometimes get .25u more insulin than her actual dose.
