Good Morning LL

Checkers ate really well, this morning. I'm not too concerned about the +2, 'cause it's food. Yay!

Earlier, he was lounging on the couch, reached his long arm out to touch a pillow. Uh oh, Is he stretching, 'cause he hurts?
He stood up, nosed the pillow, and poked at it. HUH?

Got my lazy self out of the recliner to look...there was a pretty little tan spider crawling around the pillow.
I should look it up to see if it would have bitten him. I put it outside.

Gonna be warm again today. If Checks lets me, I have things to return to WalMart.

I bet that spider was glad you saved him before Checkers had his way with it.

ittsy bittsy spider... no thanks.
I'd much rather they had a moth , nice harmless bug to chase. don't like those summer bees in the house either. :shock:

Hope Checkers sees some blues today after that food number goes down.
Maybe WallyWorld won't be too crowded this early in the day.

Hi guys .. isn't it crazy how well a cat can find those tiny spiders? Twix has the eyes of an eagle while most of the time we think mocha is as blind as a bat :lol: I hope checks let's you run to wal mart .. have a great day guys!

Wrong way Checks! Clear that food spike and get to business. Poor kitty with the spider. Tarragon loves to eat them. Yuck. Have a great day Barb!

How funny about the spider!! Hope your boys are doing well.

I was looking at his SS. Since 11/5, he's been in the 30s twice on this dose, and the 40s once. He should have a reduction. I know you had to skip yesterday morning and his numbers went up a bit ....and his shed needs to refill a bit....but I think it would be good to reduce him ....usually Jill recommends a .25u reduction for the 30s....but I know you prefer to shave.

:lol: I really have to drag out those instructions you (Marje) gave for using calipers. I so hate drawing up that sk dose.
At least it's easier than 0.25. :roll:

Nice to see Checks in the blues again, Rupie was at 127 at lunchtime (+6) so I'm hoping his new vial and new dose will do the trick and he and Checks can hang out together for the rest of the day. I haven't had time to post a condo lately but have been keeping an eye on our buddy Checkers!

Thanks Pip. I was going to PM you to ask where Rupert is. I thought I just couldn't find his condo. I haven't been getting to all I want lately.

Nice blues for Checkers. I'm really glad I started using calipers for Furball. I think it is much easier to give an in between dose that way and I can be sure I'm giving a consistent dose. Once I got used to measuring the dose that way, they've been great.

Bugs don't last long around my house. My cats chase any bug. I have to be careful because sometimes during the summer a wasp will get in and I don't want any of my cats to get stung.

Hi Barb, how do you like the calipers? I've thought about it. Good luck on the reducie and hope Checkers holds it.

Ann, I haven't used them yet. I was waiting until I needed to do .25 again.
After I got the .25 dose fixed on the calipers, Checks needed a dose raise, and I don't need it to do fat and skinny.

I couldn't figure out how to hold the calipers against the syringe, to push out the extra insulin.

I think I missed the opportunity to reduce. I should have done it on 11/18 PM dose.

Congrats on finally taking the dosecrease!

I don't hold the calipers against the syringe while I'm trying to twist extra insulin out of the syringe. That would be really difficult!! After drawing out about 1/2 unit more insulin than the dose, the first thing I do is twist the plunger to what I think is a just a little more than the correct dose. Then I measure with the calipers, twist out a tiny bit more, measure again (usually this does the trick; I'm getting pretty good at eyeballing what the correct dose is). Don't forget to measure from the "line" formed by the plastic, NOT the zero line that is printed on the syringe. When you open each syringe make sure to look at where the zero line is in relation to the plastic line. This will help you in the initial measuring.

Yay for putting Spidey outside so many meanies just kill them.
