"Crazy Ms. P reporting for duty  ."

Well, Trix's numbers are officially causing me stress nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile ....

Like I said yesterday, there is nothing sending up any red flags other than her numbers. And her numbers just confuse me because her pancreas does kick in and do it's thing. I wish I knew what to think or do here....how long do I wait? Should I just restart, even though Ms P does step up to the plate? Should I hold out as long as she stays in the blues AND Ms P is doing her thing? Should I set a cut-off range and number of days she has to spend at a certain point and if/when that happens, restart?? ARGH ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile !!!!

Aside from that, Trix is feeling radiant...appy is very happy, fur is soft-n-shiny, eyes are bright, ears are perky, attitude is feisty-yet-snuggly, she is not drinking or peeing excessively, no digestive issues, overall she "feels" solid when I pick her up.

My Dad is in the midst of his crash AND has a cold now. Ugh. He really should call the doctor, just as a precaution since this is his first cold during chemo, but nope....no convincing him to do that  . Normally I'm the same way, but this is different because of the chemo. But it just ain't happening. My Mom is keeping a close eye on him to make sure it doesn't escalate. He did tell her yesterday that it's getting better. I just know that with the weakened immune system, things like the common cold can cause bigger problems.

I'm off today...have to watch the rest of last night's Notre Dame game and get caught up on tons of housework. Yay for the extra hour of sleep! Boo for it getting dark at 5:00pm now! And it is windy and cold today...extra big boo for that.

Have a great day, LL!

Re: 11/2 Trixie AMBG 197 "+3" 95

Ms. Trix what is up with that 197?

Not that I am well versed in this at all yet, but I would like as long as Ms. P is kickin in and she is not showing any other signs, I would leave her be as long as that is all well. I guess I would fear putting her back on some insulin and then having her numbers drop super low, since Ms. P does seem to kick in eventually.

So sorry to hear your dad is under the weather....I agree with the suppressed immune system, you need to watch it closer....sending lots of healing vines to him that he feels better soon!

Re: 11/2 Trixie AMBG 197 "+3" 95

I'm glad Trixie is feeling radiant. If it was me, I'd wait on starting insulin again. As you mentioned before, she does a seasonal thing and that could be all it is. I hope your dad gets over his cold soon. Sending more prayers.

Ah, the power of a +9 snack. Too bad Trix won't use an autofeeder.....

Sending prayers out to Ruth's Tiger.....feel better quickly, little girl!!

Yep, Ms. P just needs a little food to "prime the pump". It's great to see that Trix is eating with enthusiasm. :-D :-D Many vines for DF to kick the cold and rebound from the chemo treatment. Vines for DM too.

Hi Amy ~O) :-D

Nice recovery there this morning Trixie! I like that +3. it;'s really too bad that she won't use the auto feeder, as I think that +9 snack in the "evening" would bring down her amps. well at least you know Mr P is in the house and still working rather well.

I hope your dad is feeling better. Bummer on the cold, but good that your mom is watching well to make sure things stay OK.

I hope your day has been a good one Amy.

Hi Amy, As worried as I know you are with Trixie's #'s, her whole cat report sounds fabulous! Now that I understand what you are dealing with as a whole, I know how important the appetite and how the cat is feeling and looking is so much more important!!! Go Trixie!!

Sending tons and tons of healing vines for your dad!! RE:the cold, when my dad(remember my dad did not have cancer, he had Wegner's disease, which they treated with chemo) that was the first time I ever had to get flu shots because my dad was immuno-compromised, a cold would have been an ER event for him as his lungs were affected. I was never into getting flu shots before that, but now DH and I get them regularly, as my own mother is now in the same position of being susceptible to infections. I hope he will recover from this latest crash and cold quickly and here's some more :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: for you!

That's so very strange about her numbers running higher and yet the pancreas is doing it's job...once it kicks in and gets to work. Here's hoping it's a Fall/Winter fluke. (yeah, I know...I just like to have something to blame) Sending extra prayers for your dad that the cold goes away super fast and he rebounds from his latest chemo treatment super dooper fast!!!! Hope you had a great day off with lots of kitty lovin'.
