11/2 remi PMPS 76, +2 79, +4 99

Hi everyone

I didn't post yesterday but I took remi's usual readings and he is still surfing those greens. His lowest numbers have been today, whether that is because of sting variation in dosage?? I try my best to get it accurate with the ruler.

Although remi had a bit b injection yesterday he has actually been quite quiet. Last night he suddenly seemed to develop an eye infection or at least he scratched it and made it very red. One moment he was fine the next he couldn't open it. I am wondering if it was already irritated and I just didn't notice it. I bathed it last night and today and it seems a little better. I have emailed my vet with photos and asked if he could prescribe something (an eye drop) without me bringing him in. I am still struggling to pay off all the costs I have incurred since diagnosis so looking to keep down costs where possible. I actually have some synolux antibiotic tablets left from earlier in the year and asked if these might be a good idea as I also think he might have a chest infection as he has been chesty the last few days.

Anyway tonight his eye is clearer but he inner lid is maybe slightly redder than normal and very slightly puffy. He is a little more vocal again but nothing like he has been the last few days.

His +2 is 79 and his +4 is 99 so now I am wondering if I missed the shot or maybe if he does have an infection it is affecting him.

Oh just realised that I have lost all of my earlier numbers from the title. I thought if I edited it the old numbers would still appear in the title of my post that I had made under that title. Sorry I can't seem to get the hang of the daily condo. My concern is that his numbers are slowly rising tonight

Remi is having a fabulous run of green. Did you sniff the injection site to see if you could smell Lantus? It could also just be a mini bounce in reaction to the low 50's he got during the day. I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues a cycle or two. He could also be feeling a bit sore from whatever he did to his eye. I know that Neko's numbers go up if she's in pain.

As for the numbers on the first post - there is only room for so much. You have to delete the old ones at some point, in order to add new ones.

Thanks Wendy. For some reason I thought that even if you changed the numbers they were still recorded somewhere. Silly me :lol:

I have been spoilt by Remi's good numbers and now am panicking about any increase! If my vet prescribes an oral antibiotic such as synulox (this is what he has been on before) would that influence his blood glucose readings? I think he might have a slight chest infection as his asthma hasn't been so great.

It's amazing how fast we become used to normal numbers. :lol: The oral antibiotic could be an issue. Often these can be included in a solution that includes syrup. Just make sure you ask for one that is diabetes friendly. I notice that the synulox tablets are flavoured to be palatable. That always sets off a red flag for me on sugars. If Remi does have a chest infection, that could impact the blood glucose.

Hi Sarah, What a beautiful cycle, heck, what a beautiful last couple of cycles for Remi! :mrgreen: Hope his eye is getting better and that the AB does not contain sucrose. You know, I had no idea just how many things have either corn syrup, or other weird additives until Tiger became diabetic!
